During the summer my grandma will put any/all of her vegetables into her juicer...shes come up with some pretty interesting combinations but one of her favorites is celery, cucumber, and watermelon. It doesn't look really great but she says she loves.

I'm not too sure about vegetable juice. In fact, I have a can of V8 in my fridge that has been there for awhile. I thought it would be an easy way to get my veggies-- but so far I haven't had an overwhelming urge to actually try it. However, I do like tomato juice --- usually with beer, though. Does that count?
In all seriousness -- I am not a drinker. Not at all. It's not that I don't drink, but I rarely drink. Kinda too bad -- that would be a very easy place for me to cut unnecessary calories!
Helena, I saw your recipe for mango chicken burgers ( something like that, right?) They sound great. Could you sub in another fruit, like peach, or pineapple, do you think?

Hi Helena,
Glad you stumbled here and stayed. I'm sorry you miss England -I've been all over there and I understand why you miss it. Germany is a very different place, beautiful too, but not home. I've been to Freiburg, Munich, Heidleburg, Koblenz, Frankfurt, and Colonge, but nowhere too near Berlin (and I don't know where Gutersloh is, sorry). I loved it, but I was only there for travel. My mom lived in Baden Baden (sp?) for a year as an exchange student. It's different living there though than visiting.
I think it's fantastic that you can cook so well -thanks for sharing recipies, and recipie don'ts. I'll stay away from Celery juice any day. Aren't celery and cucumber mainly watery? I think you would need to add something with flavor to that to make it bearable.
Thanks for posting and Cheers!

 Hi Helena,
That sounds like an interesting juice combo. I never had V8 before, but I buy the Campbell's Tomato Juice. The small cans are 30 cals a can. If you like tomato soup, you will like this. It is pretty much cold soup in a can. But it is really healthy for you. I like to bring it to work for a snack.
I am so glad that you got to hear from Dr Jeff too. I was a little skeptical at first about who was answering his mail. But my parents seem to think that is is him. It is really motivating isnt it? It has been said that if you know what really goes into the making of your favorite foods, you will never eat them again. I HATE fish and when I found out my favorite food in the world contained anchovies I swore I'd never touch Caesar Salad again. Well I lied, I cant stay away from it. As long as I cant taste fish, all is good. Hot dogs and sausage are really yucky once you know their origin. If you are still craving hot dogs, try "Morningstar Farms Veggie Dogs." or "Tofu Pups." NUMMY NUMMY. And 100% animal parts free!
 Happy eating!

Good luck with your weigh in tomorrow!! I hope you lost! For me, there is nothing better than when your clothes begin to feel loser, I always seem to buy mine a little tight though because I'm always "going on a diet tomorrow."
