Missy III
Just wanted to start off by saying Happy St. Patrick's Day to everyone!!
Earlier this week I was feeling really down, I think I spent most of Tuesday crying because I seem to be stuck at my current weight and it won't budge. I don't think I have lost anything in about a week...maybe more? I can't even remember now. I was just so frustrated with myself! I didn't do any binge eating or anything, but I did have some nachos and cheese when we went to the movies on Wednesday night. ARGH!!!
The workout I had today with my trainer really kicked my butt. I should actually post a pic of him...he's a wrestler. I'll do that at the end of my post. I find that when I work out with him I am sweating buckets. I feel so gross and disgusting, but I try not to let it bother me. I know everyone is at the gym for the same reason and I try not to worry about what I look like.
So far today this is what I have had foodwise:
Breakfast:
8 egg whites w/ ketchup
1/2 a banana
piece of whole grain whole wheat toast w/ peanut butter
water
Snack:
1 small low fat apple cinnamon muffin
1 turkey stick (pepperette)
1 piece of low fat cheese
water
Lunch:
chicken salad (romaine lettuce, 1/4 cup croutons, low fat cheese, 1/2 chicken breast, 2 tbsp of low fat italian dressing)
water
Snack:
1 cup protein shake with 1 cup skim milk
1 orange
For supper..we are having:
whole wheat whole grain spaghetti
extra lean ground beef
pasta sauce
1 cup side salad w/ low fat italian dressing
water
Not sure what I want for my last snack yet.....
Anyways, here are some pics of my trainer Dennis...if you want to look him up..his wrestling name is Derek Wylde...or Dangerboy..lol

Wow, he doesn't just wrestle he does TV style wrestling? (Guessing from the costume) I'd be scared if someone who looked like that were telling me to run faster -and I'd probably do it too! Well, as far as your plateau has he said anything? The only things I can think of are 1) wait it out (very unsatisfactory, but most of the books I've read say if you can stick it out and not lose determination it'll go away) or 2) Try lowering your caloric intake. This may kickstart your weightloss into action again. Maybe just try it short term for like a week and see how you're doing then. You were at 1850 roughly before right? Maybe try 1400-1500/day for a while. It's still adequate as 1200 is the min for women and maybe it will help you. Just some suggestions, but of course since you have someone working with you on your diet maybe you should discuss it with them.

My caloric intake is higher because of what I am doing physically. When they calculated this figure of 1872 for me, it was based on me working out 5 times a week (3 times with the trainer)....since I am working out so much, I need to take in more calories. I did miss Monday and Tuesday at the gym and I missed 2 days last week, so that might have something to do with it
I am going to try the ephedrine, caffeine and aspirin combo to see how that works as well. I was told taking it makes it so your body is doing a low impact cardio workout ALL the time. I am starting that tomorrow, so hopefully things start moving forward for me again soon!
Thanks for all your help and suggestions, I appreciate it

I really really hate to butt in, but are you sure you want to try that "cocktail?" Did you check with a doctor first? I just dont want to see you get hurt. I have learned that there really arent any quick fixes. There are no miracle drugs, or magic pills. A few years ago, I would have done anything for weight loss surgery, but my parents wouldnt let me. Thank God for that, because I wasnt thinking rationally. Then I realized one day that I didnt want to risk "dying" to be thin. There was a time I would have done anything to be beautiful, but I would rather be obese than dead. Missy, you only get one shot at life, and one shot to get it right, and live the life of your dreams. Dont take an unnecessary shortcut. The added benefit of sweating it out in a gym and not sucking down pills is that you have all the bragging rights. Make sure you think this through from all sides before you go through with taking the pills.

I asked all my questions about the ephedrine and the amount he is suggesting is no different than drinking a cup of coffee. Ephedrine is completely legal here in Canada and I heard that the main reason they took it off the market in the states is because it works and it was hurting the diet industry. Yes, people have died from it...but those are people who didn't fully inform themselves on dosages etc...most of those people were taking 100mg or more a day of it that actually did die. I will only be taking 24mg a day.
I understand a lot of you don't believe in it...but I have been told it is completely harmless if you know what you are doing.

I wish you the best on getting off your plateau. I hit a plateau for a week and I stepped up my workout - that seemed to have worked for me.
WOW - What a personal trainer! Do you have a nutritionist, too - or does the trainer talk with you about all that stuff?
I took ephedrine (it was in my Xynadrine) - it worked but when I quit taking it - it threw me into depression. I will never take a pill to lose weight or to jumpstart it again. I just wish you the BEST in what you decide to do!
I'm glad to see that you talk with your doctor about everything you do - that is a way to keep it safe. BEST WISHES!

Ok...so I made a goal for myself for this week.
I want to lose 5 pounds this week.
So, today is Sunday March 19th and I weighed in at 240
Next Sunday March the 26th...I will see if I made my goal.
Then if I reach it, I will treat myself by going to the movies

Wow I would never miss a workout with him as a trainer! (course once my husband got a look at him i would be finding a new trainer lol) Talk about motivation!!! LOL MMMM MMM MMMM LOL
I am with you on the ephedrine. I think if taken correctly it is fine and wish they still had it here. It worked for me and I had no problems on it as long as taken correctly

So how is life with the hottie trainer? When are you giving yourself til to lose the next 5 pounds? I am sure you can do it since you are so focused. Still beating up the Eliptical trainer? I am hoping somebody takes my weds shift so I can go to the gym in the morning when it isnt busy and try my luck at the eliptical again. Havent been on one since Nov and I think it is going to kick my ass. Do they have a rowing machine at your gym? I wish we had one. My parents got rid of ours =( Before I went to college I really wanted to try my hand at Crew. Now that is a workout! Let us know how you do on weigh in day!
