Post Damzels Good Bad And Ugly Journal

OK I am going to attempt a journal on here... it might not always be pretty I get down on myself and well MY hubby is about to throw out my scale and move out cause I was having a really bad week last week.

OK I started out at 343lbs as of Jan 2.. and had gotten down to 323 as of Feb 16th.. well..then it all went down hill...I am a slave to my scale... I am on it all the time.. normally it doesn't do anything but motivate me but last week it started to creep up really fast and got to 331 again... I was so mad. and confused cause I am not doing anything different.. eating really good...doing my workouts plus added my elliptical and wham..my ankles started to swell a lil again. and then the pounds came back.. I was like there is NOWAY that I ate enough calories to equal that much weight gain..that is 28000 cal I would have had to consumed over last 11 days being there is 3500 cal in a pound...that comes down to apx... 2545 cal extra a day....I would know if I ATE THAT MANY EXTRA So needless to say I was not the nicest person to be around by this past weekend... ready to cry at the drop of a hat....POUT

Well I am feeling a lil bit better as of today.. I took some herbal water pills and my ankles are starting to deflate...lol. and I was back down to 327 this morning. Hopefully by wed I will be back down to my hard earned 323...or less!!! I think I am seeing a pattern with the water weight and my menstrual cycle but need another month to be sure...

My sister thinks I am making excuses for gaining. she laughed cause I told her it seemed to be happening when I ovulate and then during my period(swelling) well...not and excuse more like a theory.

Well I shall march on...and hope for the best...

Damzel

Glad to see you back Damzel! Don't fret, there is always a reason for the gain. I know that is not much comfort now, but a couple more lbs. lost and you will be wondering why you got so upset. I have been there done that! lol

Just keep on trucking and make sure you are getting enough calories. I gained before because I wasn't eating enough, once I ate more I lost 6 lbs.
That time of the month doesn't do us any favors either.

Damzel, It sounds like you are doing great. I know the scale can be cruel sometimes, but I m sure you will be back down to your hard earned loss soon.
SOunds like you have the same issue with MOuntain Dew that I have with Pepsi... the best thing you can do is don't make it available. Don't have it around the house.
I like your title of your journal

Glad to see you back Damzel!!!

Sorry you're having a struggle with your weight going up. It is so hard sometimes and I do agree with your theory. I know that I weigh more with the swelling and water retention during my menstural cycle. Unfortunately it's just something we have to put up with.

I hope you get to feeling better soon. Hang in there and stay on track, you'll do great!

Damzel...you are doing a great job. I can understand how one can get addicted to the scale...this is why I do not own one. You might want to try to put it out of sight...weigh in one day a week. I make sure I weigh in at my doctor's office every Thursday...on the same scale. I glad to know that you are feeling better. We all have our times when we are down and nobody wants to be around us...I have been there many times, too. My husband can vouch for that one...lol. Just remember the positives through all of this hard work - don't focus on the negative.

By the way...I really like how you break down your calorie intake.

Keep up the hard work! Remember...YOU CAN DO IT!

Talking

Ok I dont think I am going to make too many friends by saying this, but I dont care.....

Tell your hubby and sister to SHOVE IT!! If they are looking for an excuse, then tell them the PMS made you say it!

Seriously though, losing weight is very difficult. If it were so easy, there would be no obesity epidemic. True, your period does cause you to gain a few pounds due to added fluid, bloating, and swelling of "the girls." Also, some meds like Birth Control and antidepressants also cause weight gain. Those arent excuses. You didnt cheat, you have kept up with your exercise. And the only person you cant ever lie to is yourself.
Granted the single MTN Dew didnt sabotage your diet, but it didnt help either. Too much caffeine and sugar is bad for weight loss. Try Diet Mtn Dew if possible and then when you feel comfortable, drop that as well. I know there are lots of things I didnt want to give up, but then I realized there were so many other important things in life that I wanted that had nothing to do with food. Eat to live, not live to eat. That's what I try and do every day. You can do this, I know you can.

I don't feel to bad about this amount cause the cal were for the most part Proteins ...all the tuna and the Bocca burgers...I am hungry right now too. must have high burn going on from weights and elliptical today. I only got on scale 2 times today. that is good compared to my normal million...lol..Knees were hurting today after the 40 mins on elliptical yesterday so I did my one mile walk away the pound video working with 2 lb weights during the whole thing..and 20 min resistance band then I did 20 min on elliptical and 10 mins of stretching...feel good over all about my day...

I am so in love with the Bocca burgers.. my family gobbled them right up. I was craving a burger and this total filled the need, we liked them better then the turkey burgers we did last week so I think we have a winner. told my kiddo that there is NO MEAT in them and she was so in awe that they tasted just like a burger... she looks at calories on everything we eat now too... and when I am on here she grabs my resistance band and exercise ball and does lil workouts..lol...she loves the elliptical too...

well that's all for today not to ugly...lol..
