Widdlecuddles - a new week

Boy lst week was a rough week. Our aunt passing away seemed to throw a money wrench in the whole diet mentality. We kept trying to eat right, but then we would be so exhausted we didn't want to cook. So one night we got carryout of ribs, the next was burger and fries. then Long John Silvers, Beefaro, Culvers... OMG WE WERE OUT OF CONTROL!!! The worst was a chocolate craving. We have nothing chocolate in the house... or so I thought. I was cleaning in the kitchen and moving a few things that I don't use to often into the baking cupboard. What do I find there? I bag of semi sweet chocolate chips. It was like someone had given us $1000!! Food addiction is a terrible thing!! SO what did we do with the chocolate? We melted it in the microwave with a stick of butter
WHAT WERE WE THINKING???!!!!!
This morning we both stepped on the scale and faced our reality! Funny thing is... I lost .5 lb.
back on track now - drinking my water... eating my salad for lunch....
Confession is good for the soul. thanks for listening

Wow--- It's impressive how you are able to lose control like that, and then just put it behind you , and get right back on track. I can feel so bad, if I have a weak moment, and eat something ridiculously bad for me. But I'm working on that. It's so easy , when you slip up , to say 'AAARRGGGHH-- I can't do this!!!" I'm trying to lose that attitude, and take every set back for what it is ---a set back. I try to learn from it, and improve, rather than let it defeat me. This is easier said than done, for me!
I really find everyone so inspiring here. But I really like to hear about your slip ups and set backs too. I think they are so common, and it helps me to know I am not the only one who experiences them!
Great job. Thanks!

Thanks Muppet... unfortunately I didn't put it behind me so easily... it actually took a little over a week from 1st crappy decision to get almost back on track... I had a brownie earlier today so I am still not totally back on... Hopefully it is behind me now and I can move forward with a reminder of what last week felt like. I had actually forgotten how terrible I feel physically and emotionally after eating so many wrong choices.
My alarm went off this morning at 5:00 so I could exercise. I hit the snooze button every 9 minutes for an hour!!
Tomorrow the plan is to actually get out of bed when the alarm goes off. Grab my walk away the pounds video and get my butt moving.

Nicky,

Glad to hear you're back on track. I hope you're able to stay there. I'm having a difficult time staying on track.

Hi weaverdelooh,
Why do you think you are having a difficult time? Anything you want to talk through?

I was good yesterday, woke up and worked out a little bit and then came home and worked out some more. I stayed up too late last night and then hit the snooze button for an hour until 6 am. No workout this morning. Atleast my abs and right arm got a work out, rise up and reach over to hit the snooze..... Tomorrow I am determined to make this happen!

Oh, I'm just having so much stress going on right now. The kid's educational demands are completely overwhelming! Just since Jan 9th, there's been 1 science report (that the teacher mixed up the info on and we were forced to rushed through in a 3 day period), 2 Science Fair projects, 2 speech meets, 1 spelling bee, and I just found out last night that there are 2 Math Olympiads in the family as well. Add to that the fact that our Children's pastor left the church (very stressful for our kids), I've planned a baby shower, and I accepted new responsibilities at church. (which I honestly don't mind, it's the educational stress that's killing me). Oh, did I mention that there were 2 kids involved in b-ball, one had tournaments last weekend, the other's in tournaments this weekend and we'll have both b-ball banquets to go to as well? Oh, and I've been asked to help with both of those. Again, I don't really mind because it's something I honestly enjoy doing. Oh, and my son's involved in children's quizzing which I volunteered to help with the recent meet.

Plus my son's involved in a situation at school that's not exactly his fault, but in the end his teacher gave him an "F" for his assignment. This is one I'm willing to fight, and I'm getting blown off at the school. It's to the point that if I don't have an answer by the board meeting I'll be requesting a meeting with either the disciplinary comittee, or educational comittee (which ever one is appropriate) to handle the situation. I've already requested this meeting 3 times through the H.S. principal, and he has yet to get back with me, even after saying he'd get back with me "early" last week!

Oh, and my husband started a new work shift. Meaning the kids generally go M-F w/o seeing their father. It's not working well with the family schedule. I'm the one getting the short end of the deal, because I'm trying to be there for everyone and in the process it's completely exhausting! Wake up @ 6:30 a.m. to get the kids off to school, then I usually go back to sleep, because it's the only time I have to get the extra 2 hours of sleep my body requires. Then I'm up for work by 10, and out the door at 10:30. I work at the school 2 1/2 hours, and usually volunteer 1 1/2 hours before school's done for the day. Then it's home for homework, supper, bed time, typing reports, etc..., and the kids are in bed @ 8:30. The hubby generally doesn't get home until nearly midnight, if not later, and I end up not going to sleep until @ 1:30 a.m.!!!!! Then I start all over again.

I'm so completely exhausted all of the time, I find working out to be too stressful to add to the mix. I've completed one session of work outs, and 1/2 a session after that. I'm going to have to turn off the telephone ringer while I'm working out, so as not to be disturbed again.

I'm just not handling everything together very well at the moment. However, I know that Science Fair will be over in a week and 3/4 of the stress will be gone! I'm not the only parent who can't stand this Science Fair garbage! Every other parent I've spoken with loves it just as much as I do. Including the teachers who are parents of the students involved!

Talking SuperMom

Wow it sounds like you are trying to go in 500 different directions at once. I hope you are getting enough sleep or it will come back to haunt you. But like you said, some of the "excitement" will be over in a week. Hang in there. If you can live through all this, you can do anything! I am now bestowing the honor and title of "SuperMom" on you!
