Hi Patty_Ann,
I hope you daughter gets better soon. I'm sorry your sleep got so out of whack. That can really mess with your energy levels -so I hope you get some sleep tonight. Good luck on your weigh-in and don't be hard on yourself about missing 1 day. We all know that your kids are more important to you than a number on the scale, and no matter what number comes up you've done fantastic this week and more importantly you're a great mother. It's quite different to have a bad day because you gave up control without reason and another to have a bad day because you've been up all night with a sick kid. *thinks you need a hug* You're fabulous, and you should be proud of yourself.

Thank you Jules - you sound like my mom. She told me that my body could use the rest anyways. Thanks for the kind words. You have definitely put a smile on my face.

Sorry to hear about your sick baby. Hopefully everything is back to normal for you soon. If I were you I wouldn't get on the scale, wait until next week and maybe you'll get a nice surprise! Work extra hard until your next weigh in and I'm sure you'll be beaming

Good luck!

Sorry to hear about your sick little one, hopefully you and the little one will get a good nights sleep! You are doing so well with your healthy eating and exercise and missing one day will not harm you, you might wake up feeling refreshed and ready to start again, if you dont reach your goal for this week, dont let it get you down, just look at what you have lost so far snd you will see what a big achievment you have made!! You keep at it you are doing FAB!!!!!

It's difficult to keep on track when you are stressed out and looking after a sick child must be worrying and exhausting so don't worry if you have a few less than perfect days - you are doing so well!

Hope your little one gets better soon, take care.

Sorry to hear about your baby. I remember those nights! Usually, the kids would get over it, and bounce right back, while it would take me days to recover from the sleepless night! ( and I wasn't even sick)
I hope you have both recovered.
Give us a review of your Yoga workout. I'm always interesting in something new. I have a yoga/ pilates dvd I got from the wal mart discount bin -- and it is just way too easy. It is for someone who hasn't moved for years! And I have run across some that are way too hard too. Even with the modifications. And some use special equipment, which I don't like. I don't have a yoga block, and I don't want to get one!
Take care Patty Ann. I hope no one else in your family gets sick!

Hi Patty Ann,

Hope everyone is feeling better and the fevers etc are gone. I know that it is disappointing to think that you may not have met your goal this week, but you never know what the scale will say. Even if you only lost a 10th of a pound, it is still a loss. Or you could have lost inches instead. Besides, the great thing about weight loss it that tomorrow is always another day, and another chance to achieve your daily goals. Hang in there; you can do this. Where would we all be without our forum's little Spark Plug MAMA! Let me know what you think of the Pilates. I am kinda curious about them.

I want to thank everyone for their kind words during my daughter's episode with the flu. She is still sick today but feeling better...she is more tired and tummy aches today. Yesterday she had lots of tummy aches and diarrhea...her poor bottom.

Carrie - I'm so glad that you see me as the Spark Plug Mama. I sure wish I had the energy to get through my days without feeling so blah these past 3 days. It has been tough - not only b/c Kenna is sick but b/c the motivation has decreased. Not sure why b/c I am still receiving all the support I need - I think I burned myself out. I am taking it one day at a time - that is all I can do. I am going to start thinking about how much I have accomplished and pat myself on the back for doing such a wonderful job.

I weighed in yesterday and didn't lose anything - BUT I didn't gain anything either. I am happy that I didn't gain - this past week was a tough one on me...I wasn't able to workout each day like I have been doing and my eating wasn't the best. I haven't kept track of my eating this past week and I can see now that I need to keep up with that. So...I'm back on track and ready for another month of struggles and successes....the struggles are going to keep me human and the successes are going to help me realize that I AM doing it!

So....I'm off to a new start today! I'm going to start off today like I did 2/1/06. Drinking lots of water...keeping track - snacking 3 times a day with HEALTHY foods...keeping track - and eating a healthy lunch and dinner...keeping track of that, too. I will be keeping track of my workouts each day...and realize that if I do not have the energy to get up and go one day then it is okay. Tomorrow is April 1st and I will be starting my second 21 day challenge...doing an activity with my kids each day.

Well...I just wanted to thank all of you for your kindness. I'll be back in her later. I hope! Late!

KEEP ON KEEPING ON!

Good luck on your challenge! I know you'll do great.
We can't control everything in our lives. Sometimes I think this would all be so much easier, if it was just 'me' I had to take care of. I have 3 kids too , 16, 13, and 10. And a husband. That's a lot of people to take care of! And, it doesn't matter how old they are -- your kids will always need you.
That's just what we do. We love our kids , our families. Sometimes they can zap us of all strength and ambition. Sometimes after taking care of everyone else's needs, it's easy to neglect your own.
This isn't a good habit to get into, but when your kids are sick, it does take a lot out of you. I think it's ok to relax the diet, and exercise stuff a bit, when you're going through this. Lack of sleep, stress and worry take their toll, and you get all of these things when your kids are sick! So, don't worry about it. As long as you don't relieve your stress and worry by diving into a gallon of ice cream, you're doing ok. Take care of your family, and take care of you. You'll feel better soon, and get back with the program!
I hope I made just a little bit of sense! Hope everyone is in tip top shape soon!
Take care
