I am still doing well. I am suprised that I am not having a meltdown with no scale for 2 weeks now. I think its because I know I am doing well and I have allowed myself some wiggle room and feel really okay with it. Things I was struggling with before I am doing great with. I was struggling with water before and now no problems. I was struggling with vitamins and now no problems. I am a little stressed out with work and my boyfriend and I would normally turn to emotional eating but I haven't. I am so proud of myself. The eating plan that I am on now I know I could do forever. I feel I am in a really good place right about now. I am happy that I threw my scale away now. I feel less in a rush to lose weight but more in a rush to get healthy. Slow and steady is the surest way to get there.

Well, I got my two Old Navy gift cards in the mail on Thursday. I headed to Old Navy to purchase a pair of jeans and proceeded to have a terrible time. I did not buy anything. I may have to go to Kohl's but I generally don't have a problem at Old Navy but I did today. Nothing fit right. Either too small or too big or too long. I'm so short. Kohl's does better with petites than Old Navy does. At Old Navy I have to buy capri pants and wear them as jeans. At Kohl's I can find good petite jeans and petite capris. Sounds like I know where I should have went. I really love Kohl's and have not been there in awhile. I will enjoy going again soon.

After that depressing situation I headed straight for Chinese food. I didn't do too bad but I could have done better. Nothing to fret about but I will do better today.

Sorry to hear things were so stressful for you at Old Navy. My trainer suggested to me that I buy a pair of pants that I'd like to be able to fit into...or would think I could fit into if I lost another 20 pounds and keep them where I can see them everyday as something to work towards.

Have you ever tried doing that?

Well actually I have several pairs of capri pants I want to get into. It seems each summer I need to buy a new wardrobe and I definitely plan to avoid that this summer. I can already fit into the clothes I had last summer but they are too baggy. I would love to fit into the clothes I wore the summer of 2004. That would be great. I try them on every now and then and I am not too far from there.

Forget the scale and use the pants as a gauge. Easier said than done I know. Summer isnt too far off and so you have plenty of time to get into even smaller capris!! Go for it girl! We are all pulling for you!

Okay, I bought a scale today off of e-bay. The new weight watchers glass precision scale so I am excited about that. Probably by the time I receive the scale it will be about 5 weeks since I weighed officially. I have found a scale here and there to get on and am very happy that I am able to still lose weight without being tied to a scale. I will be happy to have one again though. Once I receive it and weigh in I will change my signature. I am excited about that.

Sounds like everything is going in the right direction for you - best wishes on your next weigh in. Something about the scale - my sister is going to Slim4Life - they have her weigh in 3 x a week. I told her that is too much ... I suggested her to weigh in only once a week - I hope she goes with it. She is always calling me upset b/c she gained a pound or happy b/c she had lost 2 lbs. I told her that her weight is going to change often b/c she is living on the scale. I weigh myself every Thursday @ my doctor's office...I find that weighing in once a week is perfect (at least for me it is)....I don't own a scale b/c I know that if I had one then I would live off of it. I don't want to do that.

As for letting your pants tell you if you've lost the weight...that is a good idea. I have learned that my measurements are going to be off - my pants have told me that I have gone down a full size. From a tight 22 to a comfortable 20. My goal is to fit into a 16 by July.

Do you have any set goals? How much does it cost for WW scale?

I think your goal is very doable by July. I think the WW scales generally run between $70-$80 but I got it off e-bay for $35.50 including shipping & handling. A great deal.

When I set my goals I want them to be realistic - I am actually surprised that I have already lost 15 lbs. I'm going to have to check those scales out - especially on ebay. Thanks!

WW suggested you weigh yourself everyday at the same time of the day. (ie first thing in the morning) I find it motivating but mostly I let my clothes tell me as that is what other people can tell anyways.
