Hey Britt, you're off to a good start!
Don't worry about that first number. Remember on the show how hard is always is for the contestants to do that initial weigh in. Very emotional! But also remember how great they feel, and how great we feel for them, when they see that number go down. Go for that feeling! But don't let the scale rule your life. I don't know if most of us, in real life, can acheive the dramatic results they have on the show. So be real about it, but celebrate and acknowledge every victory! Good luck to you.
Carol

I agree with muppet on this one. Just look at that number as a starting point to the beginning of a new life. Tell yourself that after today, you will never see that number again!!

April 4
Today has really been a great day so far!! I love Tuesdays!! I only have 2 classes, 1 in the morning at 8 and then I go back to the campus at 5 for my other one, which gives me all day to absolutely nothing. I am really working on tracking my calories today, weighing everything trying not to let food "hop" in my mouth (I can be standing there and all of the sudden I'm eating something with no clue how the food got there...okay, maybe i do know how it got there, I'm just in denial), and exercising!
I'm off to work out!!

Great job on tracking your calories. Fit day is useful once you get the hang of it. I'm interested to read what the BL book will say is my recommended caloric intake. I'm getting a copy soon (Thanks Aaron!) I'm at 1200/day now, as it's the recommended minimum and I've seen several BL episodes with people my size being told by Bob or Jillian to be at that number. I'm interested to find out.
Hope your exercising went well. Remember to drink plenty of water to keep hydrated and because if you have a water bottle in your hand you wont have food. Cheers!

I LOVE fitday i used it a lot when i was counting carbs and i really like the new look they have to the site.
I've heard that 1200 was the minimum as well, but the book says to take your current weight and multiply it by 7 and if you weigh less than 150 pounds to eat around 1,050 calories a day (which to me seems low).

April 4: Goals for April 5
Yay!! I did really good with my calories!!! Only 8 over today!!!
Food Goal tomorrow: not snack as much as I did today, studying really puts me in a snacky mood. It's amazing how many calories I had to have been eating before, you just don't realized until you start looking at packages.
Exercise Goal tomorrow: in addition to normal routine, I want to run/walk a mile and try to improve on that time weekly.

I used to use Fitday, but now I just have everything figured out in a spreadsheet in Excel.
