Hope you feel better soon! Brushing your teeth is a great way to remind yourself that you are done eating. If you feel hungry, drink TONS of water...it's good for you. You could also try having a cup of green tea, it's supposedly works great for suppressing hunger.

I have found that when we are feeling a little under the weather we don't have much motivation to stay on track...at least this is the way I have been feeling. I couldn't complete my workout the day before yesterday b/c of a migraine - and today I am feeling really icky and don't feel like working out. Although, I do feel hungry. My husband made me some toast this morning - I usually eat my Special K cereal but was afraid to eat it. I also slept in really late - 11:20am is when I got up out of bed. And I still feel sick...urgh! I hate being sick.

You are doing a wonderful job on expressing yourself in your journal...no better way to feel better than to put it into writing. Keep it up! We are all here for you!

Oh my goodness- I do LOVE this board! I am amazed at how many of you take the time to comment on so many others' journals. I feel like I'm kind of slacking sometimes. I get so much wonderful support -- I hope I am giving some too! I really appreciate the time you all put in, to support each other.
I had a pleasant surprise this morning. I decided to weigh myself -- and it was 191.7. Pretty much the same as it was, over a week ago -- down almost a pound. But I really was expecting a gain. I thought for sure it would be 195, or worse. So, while I haven't done much to lose, I haven't done damage, like I thought I did. Woohoo!
I also went shopping this morning-- at my husbands suggestion, I might add. A store was having some early-bird door buster sales, so that meant getting up early, and hitting the road! We got most of what we went there for -- a whole new set of cookwear (almost makes me excited to cook! ) Nice new fluffy towels -- absolutely luxurious sheets... and some bright new clothes for me. I did kind of a dumb thing though. I bought a skirt that was quite a bit too small, but I really thought it was cute -- and it only cost $2.99!! So I figured, that was a good investment, if it helps me set a goal. I bet I need to lose at least 15 lbs to get into it. It's a cute spring / summer skirt--- so I better get back on track!
I ate a burger and fries for lunch - shame on me! My husband insisted on eating at one of his favorite spots , and I do not like the grilled chicken there, so I gave in, on the burger. That doesn't bother me as much as the fries. They're aren't my favorite type of fries either, so it was such a waste of fat and calories to eat them! I wouldn't mind quite so much, if it had been something I really loved, and really enjoyed. Aaackk -- why do we do the things we do?
Well, after I'm done here, I'm going to bundle up, and hit the trail. Where did my spring-like weather go? BRRRR. ( it's about 37 degrees out -- I can be such a wimp! )

Yeah -- I managed to get my walk in yesterday. Looks like the rain has let up today , so I ought to be able to get out there again!
I'm feeling so good today. Things are going well for me. I adore my kids. My oldest had gotten into some trouble, last summer. It's been a long painful year. But I finally feel like we are rebuilding some of that trust. He's such a smart kid. He is more involved in school, and doing more of the right things, rather than just trying to hang out with the wrong people. He qualified for the state Speech contest, and is very excited about that. I'm very proud of him.
I'm proud of all my kids. They are all very unique individuals. I am so blessed.
I got so busy last night, I didn't even eat supper. Not wise, I know -- but since I was such a pig at lunch, I was probably a good thing!
We ate out after church today. But I was good -- only ate a grilled chicken sandwich, on a whole grain bun. It was quite tasty.
It's a great Sunday to just be lazy -- cloudy, a bit rainy, and cold. Perfect for an afternoon nap, or to curl up with a good book.
So, I'm going to do one, or maybe even both, and try and get out for a walk later. See y'all!

Good job Muppet! Glad to see you got in your exercise. I think the idea of the new skirt being a goal is great! Can't wait to hear how you feel when you wear it for the first time!

Skirt for motivation

I think it is great to have the skirt sitting in your closet...it will be a reminder of where you want to be. You will be there before you know it...keep up the great work. Don't get down b/c you ate unhealthy for a day...just forget about it and go on.

The weather here was beautiful today...played outdoors w/my kids for a couple of hours. Glad that you were able to relax today.

Isn't it nice to have those feelings of our children - they are the BEST! I'm happy to hear that your older son is doing better.

So glad to hear you are doing so well. I think it is great to have the skirt as a goal! If it were me I would put it on the closet door to remind me everyday of my goal. Maybe I will try that! Thanks, your journal is such an encouragement to me!

Ok -- I'll keep you all posted on the 'skirt situation'.... Willl it zip, or won't it? Stay tuned for further developments.
Goals for today -- walk... yoga, or pilates.....laundry (ugh ) .. cleaning my messy house.
I will eat right. I will not eat junk. 1 can of diet pepsi. OH NO -- only 1? Yes, only 1!!! I will cook a nutritious meal for my family. How about lasagne? I promise -- I will only eat a small piece! I will drink at least 2 big bottles of water. I think that will be about 48 ounces. I know,I'm supposed to drink more, and I might. But I want to set a goal I am more likely to acheive.
And, if I don't get off this computer, and get busy, I'll never get this stuff done, and I'll never fit into that skirt!
Adios, Syonara, Chaio ( chow-- can't spell that well in English, let alone foreign languages! )
