Talking Patty_Ann's 2nd Week Journal

2/16/06

Today is a very good day! I am feeling better - still have a cough but nothing too serious. I have been taking ZiCam (Cotton Swabs) since yesterday afternoon.

So far today:
Woke up @ 6:30am
Worked out @ 7:15 - 7:45am (30min) (W&K video)
Ate breakfast @ 8:30am (Special K cereal)
Went to the doctor's office to weigh in - I am down another 3 lbs. I am now @ 238....I am out of the 240's! Too cool!
Ate lunch @ 12:30pm (Special K cereal) - it just tastes so good.
It is currently 1:30pm and will be laying my little one and her daddy down for a nap. I will then work out to my Power Mile Walk w/Leslie Sansone. I will do this twice this afternoon. It will equal to 2 mile walk in 30 minutes.

I will get in here again later and post what the rest of the day was like.

Glad you're feeling better. I've heard that ZiCam really does work.

You're doing great!! 3 lbs is awesome!!! Keep up the good work!!

I love Special K but don't really like milk. I've been getting the Special K snack bars. I've tried the new things, the crisps or something like that but don't like them as well as the bars. I think I'll just get a box of the Vanilla Special K (my favorite) and make my own baggies of it to eat on the run.

The bars are delicious - I have had the Strawberry, Blueberry, and Chocolate Drizzle...YUMMY!

Well...I worked out twice to the Power Mile Walk - total 30 minutes. I had a Chicken Salad for dinner w/ 2% milk. I did so good! Very proud of myself - I gave myself a treat - cookies and milk. I was still under the recommended calories.

Woke up @ 6:30am
Worked out @ 6:45am
Took a shower after I worked out - got dressed and packed a bag for the day.
I had to take my husband to the ER because we were afraid he had a blood clot in his leg...turned out to be a bruise that swelled great big due to the tightness of the bandages. He is doing better - we were able to see his knee and it looks great...healing really well. He will be able to take a shower tomorrow - he is excited about that. (me, too) lol I had packed a bag b/c we couldn't find a sitter and knew we would be at the hospital all day. Thankfully we had a portable DVD player for my little one...she had to watch movies all day. She was AMAZING!!! She didn't even cry for a minute throughout the whole day...until we pinched her fingers in the door handle of my car while leaving the hospital. but she is okay!

I ate an apple on the way to the hospital...had a baggie of apple slices in the to go bag, along with 2 special k cereal bars. Those are so good! I had only had a couple of bottles of water today...which isn't good for me. Urgh! When we got to my mom's house to get my son I had a couple pieces of chicken...my husband and I were starving. When we got home @ 7:30 we had our dinner...this is really late for us. I haven't been eating after 7pm but we were still hungry...so I had a Healthy Choice dinner - Roasted Turkey w/Mashed Potatoes - along with 2 Pepsi's. This isn't good for me either - I haven't had a pepsi in a long time. I figured my calories for the day and they were well under the recommended amount.

It is now 10:45pm and I am so ready for bed...but had to include my daily calories and exercise. I'm so glad that I worked out this morning b/c by the time we got home I didn't want to do anything but watch a movie...we watched Saw 2 - good movie but gross.

So...I hope everyone is doing fine...I'll have to talk with you all later. I'm about to fall asleep. I have a day full of errands tomorrow.

Thank you Susie! ZiCam is great - I used the swabs b/c I had gotten stuck on nasal spray before. I didn't want to risk that. My favorite flavor of the cereal is Strawberry but the bars it is blueberry!

Results

I have to tell you all that seeing results each time I have weighed is what keeps me going. I am so excited about continuing through my weight loss challenge. I have very small temptations to eat something that I would usually eat but then I realize how far I have come. I haven't been able to lose weight for so long and after finally getting out of the 240's - I know it is possible for me to keep loosing.

My mom was talking to me today about how proud my kids are of me...I guess they went running into her house yesterday saying "Mom has lost 3 more pounds...she only weighs 238 now!" Seeing that my children are proud of me makes it so much easier to say no to those fatty, high calorie foods and yes to healthy snacks and yes to exercise. I love the way I feel! I am extremely proud of myself and knowing that my children are this excited lets me know that what I am doing is the right thing.

I have no doubt that I will be at my goal weight before I turn 30. I have faith in myself!!!

Sounds like you are doing great. It amazes me that kids really can really be superstars when they are needed. Pinched fingers?? Owww...Hope your husband is doing well. Keep us posted. I am also a fan of Special K, both the bars and the cereal.
