Francine's journal

I started yesterday just okay. I was up around 7:15am and I did some early morning back exercise. I am feeling alot better. For lunch I had to run errands and then take my daughter some lunch. She want pizza for lunch. I must admit I did have 2 slices and I had 1 breadstick. I wasn't going to beat myself up for having it. But I just said "tomorrow will be a better day". After work I went to the store and I was very proud of myself. I just purchase fruit and veggies. I did buy chicken breast. My daughter and my sister and I went downtown and just walk around. I have to work this weekend so I need to pack me some veggies to snack on while I am working. So today I need to realize that unconscious choices wins by default. So the next time I will give myself more time to think about eating that pizza. Instead of just grabbing it because it was fast and easy.

Have you thought about planning your meals a day ahead of time in a food journal? That way, you are "locked in" to your choices, and that will make it harder to let your emotions pick for you.

Keep up the good work!

It really does help to plan ahead of time. It's tough, when you are pressed for time, and choices are so limited, to make smart choices. So if you think about it ahead of time, you might be able to avoid some situations like this.
But hey -- a piece of pizza isn't the end of the world. I know I haven't eaten my last piece either.
Sounds like you are doing great, and shopping smart. That's half the battle right there.
