For a Healthier, Happier Me!
I've started tons of these, but I need 1 to stick with. Why not here? The blue team girl in the 2 hour engaged special was roughly my size, so I modelled my plan after what I saw and heard of hers.
Height: 5 ft 3 in
Starting Weight: 167 lbs
Current Weight: 167 lbs
Goals: drink plenty of water, consume 1200 calories daily, limit fat intake, exercise daily
Meals:
Breakfast:vanilla yogurt (80 cal) + 1 plum (30 cal) = 110 cal
Lunch: Tortilla(144) with roast beef(200), mustard(0), cucumber(25), baby spinach(4) = 273 cal
Dinner:n/a
Snack:n/a
Exercise:n/a
Goal: 1200 calories Total: X Calories

I have started many journals also...since starting with this forum I have been on target every day...well, besides yesterday - I was in the hospital all day with my husband. (He had surgery on his knee) I was unable to exercise or eat healthy.

Sounds like you are well on your way Jules! It is helps so much to keep a journal and to post it in here so that you can hold yourself accountable for it. Keep up the good work.

Wow, I made it as far as 1 journal entry! I haven't given up dieting, just struggling a bit trying to figure out routines and such, I have got to do better. I have been keeping a food log though, which I've found a spreadsheet the easiest format to use. Does anyone else do this?

I have lost about 7 pounds so far, but I'm frustrated with my body atm. My fiance also lost about 7 lbs. It's already clear that he looks thinner, while I look no different. I think I have a bodytype that gains weight all over evenly, so I suppose that's how I'm losing it too. His was mostly gained and lost around his waist. It's just frustrating that the exercise and dieting is not making me look different yet but it does make him look different. I'll stick to it, but there has been some definite frustration today.

7 lbs is great!!
Don't compare your body to your fiance's. Men and women are built different. We have boobs and hips and curves. All men get is a gut in front of them and of course that's where they're going to lose it!
Just keep doing what you're doing and before long you're going to look great.!!

Don't be frustrated. It's hard for you to notice the difference because you look at yourself everyday. Give it a few more pounds and I'm sure someone you haven't seen in awhile will notice it and you'll feel great! Don't give up no matter what! The numbers on the scale are not important, it's the inches lost that matter!! You should measure your weight loss by a measuring tape instead of the scale. Good luck!

I don't own a scale, so I have been measuring via tape. Thus far, between my hips, waist, and breast I've lost a total of 5 1/4 inches and that's over the past 2 weeks. I suggest using the tape on a weekly basis, because even though I don't feel as if I have lost weight really (personal feelings here), I know I've lost inches just by what the tape is telling me.

I'll try the tape measure, maybe that will cheer me up. I just read in the book by Jilian Win by Losing that instead of BMI she recommends a waist/hip ratio of 0.80. Maybe that's something I should try to measure too. Thanks for the suggestions so I don't get discouraged when I'm just starting out.
