I know what you mean about the tall skinny beanpoles! But I bet the 6ft beanpole wishes she weren't so tall and skinny. Seems like women are always hard on themselves, and wish something was different.
My coworker is very short. I'm short too 5'5", but she is probaby about 5', with her hair pouffed up. She considers me tall, and hates it if I wear any kind of heals.
I have to admit -- since I teach preschool -- it's great to be able to go to work and be 'the tall one'!!!
My kids really wanted a puppy for awhile. They are adorable, and part of me would love to have a dog, but I know that if we got one, I would be the one doing most of it's care. In spite of all their promises to the contrary, I know how it would end up. So I said, unless I decided that I want a dog, we would not get one.
They have since had friends who have puppies, and realize how much work they really are. They've finally reallized how much work they really are. Dogs are wonderful, don't get me wrong -- but you are making a commitment when you get one. You're right -- it's not unlike having a child.
This is why we have a cat. They still have a pet -- it still needs care and attention, but not nearly that of a dog. Not quite the same companionship you would get with a dog either though. But there's good and bad in everything. Good luck with your puppies. Enjoy them! I'm sure that- like kids- they grow up so fast!!!
