Jules is on a distinguished road
Hi everyone,
I hope you all had a good Memorial day weekend. I was not good with my diet over the weekend; I ate bad foods but only in small amounts. I did a lot more walking but I still did not do my DvD exercises. I'm really not used to having the sleep schedule of a puppy yet. I'm getting up 6:30 - 7:30 and going to bed at 12-1, which is significantly less sleep than I'm used to. Boy am I glad I had a puppy and not a baby -I don't know how moms do it. I napped a lot over the weekend whenever possible, and helped build a fence around the backyard. Today's 2 for Tuesday at Subway, yea. So tonight in no particular order the goals are 1) drink water 2) nap 3) exercise.

I spent this morning helping out a new student learn the ropes at the office. She's atleast 6 ft, skinny, and about 18. Made me feel very short and round standing next to her. I don't like that feeling. I really really want this last bit of weight to go away. I am down 15 lbs, which is good, but I need to lose another 20 atleast to be happy with myself and to consider myself in decent shape. Young skinny beanpoles around = motivation.

I know what you mean about the tall skinny beanpoles! But I bet the 6ft beanpole wishes she weren't so tall and skinny. Seems like women are always hard on themselves, and wish something was different.
My coworker is very short. I'm short too 5'5", but she is probaby about 5', with her hair pouffed up. She considers me tall, and hates it if I wear any kind of heals.
I have to admit -- since I teach preschool -- it's great to be able to go to work and be 'the tall one'!!!
My kids really wanted a puppy for awhile. They are adorable, and part of me would love to have a dog, but I know that if we got one, I would be the one doing most of it's care. In spite of all their promises to the contrary, I know how it would end up. So I said, unless I decided that I want a dog, we would not get one.
They have since had friends who have puppies, and realize how much work they really are. They've finally reallized how much work they really are. Dogs are wonderful, don't get me wrong -- but you are making a commitment when you get one. You're right -- it's not unlike having a child.
This is why we have a cat. They still have a pet -- it still needs care and attention, but not nearly that of a dog. Not quite the same companionship you would get with a dog either though. But there's good and bad in everything. Good luck with your puppies. Enjoy them! I'm sure that- like kids- they grow up so fast!!!
