Talking ~Missy in February~

It's the start of a new month again, seems like the days just go into each other now. It's getting closer and closer to my wedding day. We have a lot of things in place already (the hall, the chapel, the minister, the photographer, our dj)..we are actually meeting with the dj next weekend to go over things and what songs we want for the first dance etc. It's crunch time now though...I want to get as much weight off as possible before then and we still have a lot of saving to do $$$. 8 1/2 months to go!

Today was weigh in day...got on the scale this morning and had Matt read to me what it said. We don't have a digital scale anymore since it broke...so our regular one is hard for me to see...I'm blind haha. Anyways, by his reaction I knew it was good! He said "holy S*&!"....then told me I lost 3 pounds this week! It might actually be 3 1/2 because he said it was in the middle of 2 numbers...but wasn't quite 4 pounds...that's crazy for me!!

Anyways, we got our grocery shopping all done last night...and then today had to pick up my car from the shop. I took it in because it's been stalling on me a few days this week...turns out everything is fine with it..hmmm, could have been the weather and it froze a belt or something and it wasn't working as good. Good news at least!

We might be heading to the cheap movie theatre near our place tonight...The Golden Compass is playing.

I got a cold this weekend and I'm not happy about it. It's the whole sore throat, stuffy nose and massively stuffed up head kind of cold. I'm picking up some Buckley's cough syrup and some Halls today...I don't want this to get worse if I can help it. Not planning to take any time off work and I definately don't want to miss any training sessions with Dennis. I feel like such a bag of crap though lol.

Matt & I are going to the mall today to look at wedding bands. I already have mine, but we need one for him. People's is having a sale until Valentine's Day on jewelery and for this weekend only you don't pay the tax on anything...so we're hoping to find one he likes.

I'm really hoping that I feel better tomorrow. I hate having to work and feel like crap the whole day.

I got sent home from work today because I'm sick, which is understandable. They don't want me passing it around to everyone else...but it still sucks for me! I get paid for my sick days so I'm not worried about that, but it does affect my bonus...went to the clinic and they told me it's a viral infection so they didn't prescribe me anything either..just said to let it work it's course. So I had the doctor write me a note for work..for the whole week! That way if I need a couple extra days, I have the note for work still.

I was trying to hold out at work as long as I could...but my head is just so stuffed up and everyone kept telling me how terrible I looked (gee, thanks!), so then my boss told me I should go home.

I haven't even felt hungry..I've been picking at food here and there, but I have no will to eat anyways. I know I have to eat, so that's why I've been eating little bits here and there but I'm just not hungry. I'm more interested in water or sugar free popsicles to soothe my throat. I've been taking vitamin c pills all weekend too. Hopefully this cold doesn't stick around for too long...there's a lot of people at work who are sick.

Went back to work today. My sinuses are still a bit stuffed up, but the day went alright. We had a massive freezing rain storm last night, so needless to say scraping my car this morning wasn't fun. We had about a foot of snow to brush off before we even got to the ice. Although, I did go down last night and scrape all the ice off...if I wouldn't have done that I can just imagine the nightmare I would have had before work this morning. It would have taken me twice as long.

Went to the gym tonight and did chest and biceps. Spent 40 minutes on the elliptical as well and burned off 430 cals.

After the gym, I wanted to stop and fill up on gas because I was below 1/4 tank...but that side of the car was completely frozen and I couldn't get to the gas cap!! So, I ended up having to pour some lukewarm water over it to melt the ice off *LOL*

Biggest Loser Australia is on tonight.

I was sick at work today..my stomach just did not feel good today at all. I some how managed to make it through a brutal workout with Dennis tonight though..didn't think I would. We did a full body workout today and the jumping squats burned like mad.

I did 40 minutes on the elliptical and burned 360 calories..I was exhausted.

Matt applied to a higher job grade position at work, so hoping he gets it. We sure would love the extra money coming in.

We are getting a nasty storm here again tonight...when I left work it was snowing and blowing...and freezing! Oh..it's been so cold the past few days and our city issued warnings out and opened up doors for the homeless.

We went to the gym anyways...regardless of how much I wanted to climb into my pj's and be warm. I did my triceps and back tonight...spent 40 min on the elliptical and burned 400 cals tonight.

Matt & I aren't doing anything special for Valentine's...we are way too busy during the week. So we just decided to go out for dinner on Saturday instead since that's our "cheat meal" night.

Hey Missy. Sorry to hear you've not been well. Take care working out when you're ill though as your immune system needs to concentrate on getting better not post workout recovery. Don't panic if you take a few days off and gain the odd pound. You'll soon loose it once your better.

Happy Valentine's Day...although I don't believe this day should just be about couples, I think it should be a day where people show love to THEMSELVES. I remember I always used to get depressed whenever this day came around...and when I look back on it, I could have used this to do something special for myself to make myself feel good. That's one thing I'm learning with my councellor...that I don't do enough things for myself. I depend on other people to bring happiness into my world...but it should ALL come from me. The other people should just add to it...not BE the happiness. I had a session with my councellor last night...talked about my emotional eating as well as my anxiety and my distorted body image/esteem issues. It's tough to challenge my inner negetive thoughts, but I'm learning little by little how important it is to love yourself first. She gave me a great book to read.

Matt & aren't really doing anything exciting today. We spent most of our day at work and then spent 2 hours in the gym...we exchange cards today and we're going out for dinner on Saturday.

Matt has his job interview tomorrow for a higher paying position *keeping my fingers crossed*
