Arrow It's Time For A New Life

Hi everyone,

Ok I am officially starting my journal now.

Day 1

Well I began the day with 2 packages of Quaker Oatmeal. At 160 cals a pop, they kept me full until around 3pm. Breakfast was around 8am. Lunch was mixed veggies and a small amout of pasta. 200 cals for that and a bag of the diet popcorn. I kinda blew it in the food department today because I think my sodium levels were a little high, and I way underate (according to calories). But, I stuck to my diet, no diet soda and I exercised. I rode my exercise bike for an hour and pounded out 31.8 miles in an hour. Not too shabby! Tuning into BL now. Would love to share thoughts afterwards.

Good job Carrie! I wouldn't worry too much about the sodium as long as you drink lots of water. I also do the oatmeal for breakfast, but I only do one package and it satisfies me until lunch. That way I have 200 calories to spend on lunch where I can get my veggies and some type of protein. If you wait too many hours in between meals, you might feel fine, but it will slow your metabolism down. Just a thought. Keep up the good work, that was quite a workout on the bike!

Talking Day 2

Day 2

Well it is my second day (soda free), and so far I am not breaking out in hives. Maybe this will be easier than I thought. I have also dropped some of the hibrination weight I have put on in the past 2 weeks of laziness. Was 168.7 and now I am 163.9. What a revelation...Eat less, work out hard, no soda or prepackaged stuff (except veggies) ---->scale will be nice! Ok so I got the kick in the pants that I needed. I think I am going to start another hobby; as long as it doesnt include food. I am thinking I am going to restock my cold water fish tank. Love those bug eyed Black Moors. And for good behavior I will continue to fatten my IPod. No more food as a reward. Yesterdays Dr Phil was a real wakeup call. Dont know how much I am going to be typing today. My lower back is a little sore due to last night's "Tour De France" in my livingroom. But it's a good pain, and one I dont mind inflicting on myself.
If anyone has any new song suggestions, please let me know.
Have a great day!
~Carrie

Hey Susie,
Josh Holloway was on Conan last night and I taped it. Oh he is such a hottie and all around nice guy. How can he manage to pull off playing such an SOB like Sawyer?? If he is ever single.....

You definitely pointed out something - the scale will be nice to you if you are nice to your body! I didn't see Dr Phil...what was it about?

Talking Dr Phil

Hi,

Thanks for the bike comments...Unfortunatly, I didnt get back on yesterday. But today is a new day.

Dr Phil had on a mother and grandmother who were upset about their 11 year old daughter's/grandaughter's weight. She had to have weighed over 200 lbs. Very sad. Then the second half was about a mother and her son who she believed to now weigh 1,000 lbs. She said she was embarrased to be seen in public with her son (when he could get out) so she would bribe him with food to stay home!! He decided to do something about his weight when he fell in the bathroom and couldnt get up. He had to call 911 to help him up to bed, where he remained in bed for 2 weeks afterwards. The story only got worse....

Woo-Hoo!!! I'm glad you got to see your hottie lastnight!!! Isn't it funny how when you watch an actor on a TV show playing a really mean person you kind of half expect them to be that way in real life? LOL

Back Off Yessica, Josh Is Mine!!

Day 3

Well it is Day 3 and I still havent touched the darn soda. I am sticking to my plan, "Operation Soda Dump." I am drinking bottled water and Welch's Orange Pineapple Juice. Oh is that stuff good. It has 160 cals a pop, but since I have also cut out tv dinners, I am amazed with how many extra calories I have to play with. I have also started buying frozen veggies. Barely any calories (unless there are added sauces). I ate a plate of Broccoli (50 cals a serving) with Thyme, a single serving bottle of juice and a mini bag of the diet popcorn. All that came to 360 calories, and I am so stuffed!! I am really loving all these frozen veggie options. So much food and fiber for so little the fat and calories. By the end of the week I think I am going to turn into a broccoli spear. If anyone is interested, the veggies are Birds Eye Brand.
I am also having trouble downloading my Profile cartoon pic. It is the right size, but it wont upload. The image is selected though. Help??
I am starting to wonder what the new thin me is going to look like? I have never been thin, just pleasently plump...until 12 years ago. I wonder if I will even recognize myself in the mirror. I wonder if people will treat me differently. I wonder how many different doors will now be opened up because of the new me. And I worry that guys will only want to date me because I look hot. Anyone else struggle with these? I think I always sabotaged myself before because I was scared of change, and what Susie alluded to earlier about, "What if people still dont like me?" Well here goes nothing...
NOW HEAR THIS....
I AM NOT SCARED ANYMORE!!! BRING IT ON!!!!!

~Carrie

OMG...that is terrible. I couldn't imagine bribing my children into staying home with food - shoot, I wouldn't do that to anybody. Is Dr Phil going to get the boy help? How old is he?

You have the right outlook on this. I think all of us wonder what we are going to look like and what things will change around us. Of course, people are going to look at you differently - but let's hope that someone isn't rude about it...You know the jerks who have nothing to do with you until you look good - forget those people...we don't need them. If they weren't there for us while we needed them then forget them.
