I had a look at some of the vegetarian alternatives at the supermarket and was totally alarmed at the amount of fat in them, like 20% in the burgers. Quorn seems ok though and is great to replace mince in italian dishes. Plus its extra protein and you need that to build muscle.

I like the new avatar pic btw.

Not sure what brand of "burgers" you were looking at. I know there was a significant drop in calories and fat between the Chik'n Nuggets and the Vegetable Garden Burgers I am eating. I will post the complete comparison later. I have to get up and go to work now....Blah....

I use only Morningstar Farms Brand Veggie Products. I dont like the taste of the Boca Burgers. I have heard of Quorn; but never seen it in stores.

Thanks for all the compliments guys. They keep me going through the tough days. I guess it only had to be a matter of time before the scale decided to play nice again. I got more than my fair share of compliments on my weight loss and appearance today. I cant tell you how great that feels. As they say, "One good day is worth two bad ones." I am going to be riding the feel good vibes off of this one for weeks. Found out more about the Sales Counselor Position today from another Phebotomist who is certified in both areas; as well as a current client. The training is one week long, if the travel to get there is over 30 miles the company will pay for my travel expenses, and I will get paid my sales counselor pay for training. She also said they are a great company to work for. I am going to wait a little while longer before I do anything. As I said before; I'd like to see the mid-low 140's first. The manager asked me if I am going to hit the 140's this week. Yeah I have been saying this for weeks but; I am going to work my hardest to make that dream a reality this week. Another counselor asked me if I had spoken to "my guy" yet. She said I am not allowed to see him til I lose more so I can blow his socks off. The only thing that is getting me through not seeing him is that every day I get the chance to further my progress. Next time I see him; I will weigh less than him. I dont think either of us ever thought that was possible. But I am showing everyone that I am full of surprises these days.
Thanks for the avatar compliment this morning Phil. I was so sleepy I didnt even notice it. I have a few places I go to when I am looking for a new piece of scenery. I think this one was supposed to twinkle; but the file size may have been too large for the forum requirements.
Ok here are the differences (most of them) between the Nuggets and the Garden Veggie Burgers....

Nuggets (4 a serving) Garden Veggie Burgers (1 burger)
LA allows 6 per serving

Calories 190 100
Total Fat 7g 2.5g
Sodium 490 mg 350 mg
Potassium 320mg 180mg
Total Carb 18g 9g
Protein 12g 10g

Any other info can be found on the Morningstar Site.

I also found somebody else who wants to go to the gym and lift. She herself has a rather significant weight problem; but like me is built to lift weights. This is good because I have been looking for a lifting buddy for some time. The other woman I was going to lift with from my old gym is supposed to be having surgery at some point; so she wont join my gym until after it's done and she has recovered. Right now I am content to beat the fat off via cardio. But it will feel good to lift again and have a friend to go with. To me; cardio is a singles sport. All I need is a machine, a bottle of water, and my IPod.

"Hell's Kichen" is back on tonight after going on hiatus for a week. I am psyched. Yikes; still pouring out. I better not lose power tonight. I dont want to wait another week to find out what happens. Wow is it pouring....I swear Ohio is going to sink into the ocean; never to be seen or heard from again...

Bad news; my Crystal Light doesnt count as water. When they say eight glasses of water; they mean 8 glasses of WATER! I am going to float away!!

Hi everyone,
Well I did make it to the gym after having a minor panic attack because my HR Monitor went missing. Going to work out without it is like exercising naked. It just wouldnt be the same. I did find it (phew!) Did some cross training tonight to shake things up. I did 45 mins on the Elliptical and beat my times on the 2 mile (27:14) and 3 mile (40:22). Then I did 30 mins on the Treadmill. Did some running and some incline. Total calorie burn was 526 calories and 50% fat burn. Not too shabby. Lets hope it is enough to make a difference on the scale Weds.

Today took a weird turn around 6pm. I am not sure what to think about it; if I should even think about it at all. I will post about it tomorrow. Right now I gotta watch, "Hell's Kitchen." I need to see somebody else getting their ass kicked and sweating. I think I broke my sweat record tonight by a mile. Man I stink...But I am happy!!

Hope everyone is keeping up with their plans and exercise.

~Carrie

Congrats on loosing the 1lb. I'm not surprised you're getting lots of compliments now. I'd image you look really hot now

You do need to do some weights to build muscle as well as cardio to burn the fat. I do 3 days cardio, 3 days weights a week.
