Well I survived today with no major setbacks. Yeah I was lax about measuring certain things; but it was nothing like the day before's shenanigans. Just had a pretty sizeable salad minus the dressing. That should hold me until tomorrow morning. Was too lazy to make my own so I went to BK. They gave me chicken I didnt order and dressing I didnt order. I already ate my protein today so I had to throw it out because I didnt trust myself not to chow it. I asked for fat free dressing (I had used my condiments up too), I got home and the dressing was Lite Italian with 11 grams of fat per packet. GRRRRR.....

Made my lap around campus and my knee was cranking the entire way. The Icy Hot didnt work. Tomorrow I am going to go full strength without the sleeve and see what happens. Enough is enough. I cant run my belly off if I have a sore knee. Was out for an hour and eleven minutes and burned 231 calories, 60% fat. I am NOT HAPPY WITH THIS! As soon as my knee stops bugging me I am really going to turn up the heat. I dont know if my three hour and ten minute hike and 1/4 mile run the other day aggravated it again.

Almost scarfed a pizza today...
Was walking across the street. Yes I looked both ways first. I was in la-la land and I wasnt hustling. All of a sudden I look up and there is a Papa John's delivery driver speeding towards me. His coming close to running me into the pavement is the closest I have been to pizza in ages. Death by pizza wouldnt be a bad way to go. But I bet his car was empty since the store was at the bottom of the hill I was walking up.

I wish I could fast forward to week 22 when I will (supposedly be) at my weight loss goal. Before I was confident that I would get there long before. Now I am highly skeptical.

Keep up the great work guys. I heard some great news today and I am proud of you all.

Today's musical selections...
"Song 2" (Blur)
"Ready To Go" (Republica)

~Carrie

Hi Carrie. I think you need to speak to someone at (is it?) LA fitness about your knee. If its hurting then I'm not sure keeping putting pressure on it will make it better. Is there some upper body stuff you could do for a while?

LA Weight Loss is a weight loss company like Jenny Craig. I would say that most of their employees are just salespeople and have zero nutrition or personal trainer experience behind them. I know the manager at my store does have education though. Counselors go through company training to learn how to push product and probably how to treat customers. Everytime I go (well mostly) they check my journal, weigh me, and ask a few questions and then I am out the door. I think they are surprised about how much I do know on the nutritional front. To apply for the job all they are really looking for is somebody who has worked in one of the following industries: Retail/Sales, Dating, Beauty, and previous weight loss experience is a plus. They also have to be persuasive, and good with people. I am sure there are others...In short, I would be a good candidate for this position if I can get through this program without killing myself first. As with any diet; I can be given the proper tools and directions for how to succeed; but if when I get home I dont follow them...then it wont work. So in all actuality, I am still steering the ship and they are just making sure I dont go over a waterfall. I still will have no problem accepting all the credit since I am doing all the work. Honestly most of these visits are pointless since I know more about my body than they do. And I dont need to be watched like a hawk. Albeit, in my 214 days and a little bit after that, I did need guidance 7 days a week because food was too damn tempting. Now I work out harder than most people there (with the exception of this week). I am not happy about weighing in today. But I wont let it get ugly.

Death by pizza wouldn't be a terrible way to go! LOL
I know those stupid numbers on the scale are frustrating... but 61 pounds lost!!! wow that's awesome! You've come so far and are doing great!
Good luck today with your knee if you decide to go full strength. Be careful not to push yourself too much.

Grrrr...back up to 154.4 pounds from 153.0 pounds.
It's ok, I will get through this. I am going to blame my impending PMS as the culprit. Now to go shopping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a good weekend if I dont see you all.

Hello Carrie -- I'm sorry your juice cleansing didn't go as you'd hoped. But I'm glad you seem to have come to terms with it. No sense in dwelling on what's already done. You learned from it, so it wasn't a total waste.
You sound like you'd be a great candidate for a job at LA weightloss. But you don't sound like you're completely sold on the program. Or maybe it's just that the counselors aren't knowledgable enough, or helpful enough. I know you are probably are more knowledgable, and seem to always want to keep learning, and would bend over backwards to help someone, to find the answers they're looking for, to give the advice and encouragement they need.
I know if you believe in something, you'll throw yourself into it, heart and soul. Any one that would get you for a counselor would be very very lucky!
Have a great weekend!
Carol

Ok so I had a very "Patty Ann" type day today....That is what I am going to call any crazy busy days. I remember when Patty Ann used to post all the running around she did in a single day and it made me feel downright lazy!
I will spare you all the details; but I ran around like a crazy person today. Getting a car registered, plated, re-titled, and e-checked is a royal pain. My car flunked e-check. Grrrrr...So it is going in on Monday to be looked at. I have 30 day tags/registration for now. Never thought for a second it would flunk. It is only a '97. But there were 3 violations.
Yeah I gained a little, but I halfways expected it. But when I do the math, I havent gained back all that much. Less than 2 pounds. Met with a new counselor today and she was awesome. Unfortunately, she isnt around much because she visits all the centers in the area. She is actually a Phlebotomyst. (Sp??). I think they already like me as a job candidate. I got so much attention when I walked in the door today that I couldnt even answer everyone because they were all talking to me at once. The manager cant stop talking about my license picture from many many pounds ago. That alone is enough to get me in the door. They have asked former clients to become employees. Ok, so a few pesky pounds more and I could have a whole new life. A co-worker I hadnt seen in months noticed I had lost today and a passenger said she didnt recognize me because she thought I chopped my hair off. (Uh no I dont think that was the reason). Work is still pissing me off...and I need a vacation. If I had run after I was passed up again, they would have suspected something. So, I am taking 8 days off next month and I am going to go at it "Loser Style." It will be a vacation from work only. But it is going to be Boot Camp Hell for me. I cant wait!! Eight full days of PAIN! I cant believe I am excited about this....If I am not getting paid; I am going to make darn sure I make the most of it by "paying" myself back by putting myself first. Here's hoping th weather wont be in the 90's with 100% humidity on those days. I am also going to start digging through the stuff I dont need and tossing it. I dont want to be a packrat anymore. I need to make room for new clothes!!

Song recomendation for the day:
"Walk On The Ocean" (Toad The Wet Sprocket)
"Mony Mony" (Billy Idol) *I cant spell that either!

~Carrie

Feeling like a big fat slug today. Have eaten through yet another ITunes card this week. Better that than a pizza. Yeah I overate on protein today; but I am not going to beat myself up over it. Today was a weird day. Had to be at work at 445am, and up at 4am. I only got about 4 and a half hours sleep last night and no nap the day before. After work I had to go to the police station and file a report since I had a front row seat to a collision this morning. By 11am I was starving and that set the tone for the day. So I am going to cheer myself up now by watching a movie that never fails to make me laugh my ass off..."Rush Hour 2." Jackie Chan is incredible at what he does and makes it look effortless and Chris Tucker is hilarious just standing still. Get these two characters togther and it is great action and comedy all in one.

Tomorrow I tackle my bedroom. I am so excited! I like cleaning, redecorating etc. but I have to go at it completely and not be disturbed or it isnt fun for me anymore. That and I am really particular. You'd never know it right now. Hehe...
Didnt get word back yet if my "vacation/boot camp" was approved. I usually give so much notice that they really cant say no. I know other drivers have had their requests rejected. I owe this company nothing, and I shouldnt feel bad if I want time off. If I were full time; it would be different. But I am not, and in the words of the 80's hair band Cinderella..."If You Dont Like It; (I Dont Care!).
Anyhoo....have a good weekend and I will catch up with y'all later.
(GAAK!) Did I just say y'all??? I am from the East Coast! This is what happens when I change my license plates from MA to OH!!! I have transitioned!!
