I know it is impossible to kick all processed food to the curb, but I would say that I have stopped eating 98% of what I used to. I have gotten to the near bottom of the 160's and that is major motivation. I have also discovered that it feels really empowering to say, "No" to the hungries and urges to binge. Somebody once said, "Nothing tastes as good as thin feels." Well they were right. In the past I always made the wrong choices. Well I am done with that. Only 6.8 pounds to go until my reward. I cant wait. I might just cry at the salon....Back in November I went to L.L. Bean with my parents. I tried on a lot of different things and they all fit! All I could do was stare in the mirror. My parents asked why I was so quiet and not smiling. I was smiling on the inside because if I tried to talk I would have ended up crying, or screaming, "Woohoo!" so loudly they would have called security. I have NEVER had a good shopping experience. Nothing ever fit that I wanted. Clothes I could wear were huge and looked like a Moo-Moo. Two years ago I went to L.L. Bean and was stuffed into a size 20 pants. (And the zipper broke). So this recent trip ment everything to me. Gone are the days of the size 20's and extra larges. 150's here I come!
Had a great time chatting with Susie last night. Thanks Susie for helping me keep my mind off my stomach and giving me a reason to smile today!!

Hungry Again
Hey Susie and Elizabeth,
Had a great time chatting last night. Too bad we have to eat eh? Yes I did brave the Arctic Tundra to go to CVS. Man, that kind of cold makes your hands burn and the wind wasnt even blowing!! I probably burned off 100 calories in my car just from shaking from the cold. Why didnt I chose to go to college in FLA?? So it is 10:23pm and I am starving. Night hungries are the worst. I guess everytime I get a craving I will start posting. At least my fingers will warm up. Anyone have any tricks to avoid the night munchies? Well there is always decaf iced tea.
New question...What was/is everyone's favorite food to eat before dieting and after you started?
Before? Pepperoni pizza, McDonald's Fries, Ben & Jerry's, BK Whoppers, Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad, Lentil Soup, and anything else covered in cheese!
After? Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad, Turkey Burgers, Lentil Soup, Steamed Broccoli, Green Beans, and Apple Raisin Oatmeal.
Keep up the great work!
~Carrie

I had a great time chatting with you also! My favorite foods before dieting was anything covered in cheese. I used to sit down in front of the TV with a plate full of fries covered in cheese and jalapenos. Of course, with a can of Dr Pepper to go with it. I loved all fast food. Since I have started dieting, I really like the weight control oatmeal, and am enjoying all the possibilities of ground turkey.

Day 6
Day 6
Wow I cant believe it has been 6 days since my last diet soda or frozen dinner. And I am still alive!! Ok so my sodium levels are most likely still off the charts, but I have more energy overall, and I am not taking my afternoon naps anymore. Although I have to say, I wish I could temporarily gain all my weight back...(say what???) It is so cold here, I need the extra padding!! Mother Nature, if you happen to be reading this journal...Please bring back spring. I want to go outside and play again. The 6 mile bike and hike trail is calling my name. Ok so I battled another night of the late night munchies and won. It is getting easier. And I wasnt starving when I woke up either. Today the scale said 161.4. So that is 52.6 lbs gone, and only 41.4 to go. Ok I can do this, and I will do this. If it werent for this board coming to my rescue, I think I would have been back to the 180's. I guess you can find friends in strange places. My friends are no longer found via a drive thru window, or the refrigerator. Although, I have to admit I am developing quite an unhealthy relationship with green beans and broccoli! I think I am craving veggies now for some reason....I hope all of you are doing well out there.
Enjoy the strength you feel each time you say no to a sugary or cheezy treat. Feel empowered everytime you finish a workout, and triumph everytime you show somebody else it could be done, when they said it couldnt. Love your circle of board friends. We will love you and support you, even if the call of the Krispy Kreme was too strong for one day. Live each day to the fullest of your potential. Accept that your dreams can and will come true. Be PROUD!
Love,
Carrie

Good morning Carrie! It was great chatting with you & Elizabeth. Sorry about my computer locking up on me, that really drives me nuts!
I'm glad you survived the cold lastnight. I was feeling for you, It's cold here but I can imagine how cold it was there. Just think spring isn't much further away, just hang in there.
Ok, my favorite foods before: Cheese, cheese and more cheese! Fried chicken strips with french fries, gravy & texas toast (Sonic), anything chicken, canadian bacon/pineapple pizza. You know now that I try to think about what I use to like it eat I really can't remember. LOL
My favorite foods now: Still love chicken, baked or grilled is my favorite. Salads (ranch on the side please), rice, brocolli.
Have a good day!!

My Personal Biggest Loser Mantra (Unedited Version)
Hey guys, I thought that since every group has a specific mantra, I thought I would invent my own. What's yours??
Proud
Enjoy the strength you feel each time you say NO to a sugary or cheezy treat.
Feel empowered everytime you finish a tough workout where you really pushed yourself to the wall.
Triumph everytime you show somebody else it could be done, even when they said it couldnt.
Love your board of friends; we will love you and support you even if the Krispy Kreme craving was too strong for one day, or even two.
Accept that your dreams (can/and will) come true if you just believe in yourself.
Expect that your body will change everyday, so be prepared to be shocked at your new relection in the mirror. Will you recognize the new you?
Appreciate the small victories you achieve...Crossing your legs, wrapping a towel all the way around yourself, not being out of breath, trying a new food.
Know that others are counting on you for inspiration, feedback, and support. You never know whose lives you could change just by making one decision.
Always remember that you come first. Dont compromise your good choices to please somebody else's idea of what should be done.
Never forget how much courage it took to make the changes you have made so far.
Embrace your mirror, it isnt the enemy we have always believed it was. Yes, it shows how far we have to travel; but more importantly, how far we have already come.
Always remember to be a strong, powerful, beautiful (inside and out), loving, kind, and positive role model to all you touch,
Be PROUD
Much love,
~Carrie
