Carrie- I wish you the best of luck-- with everything! I know you'll acheive your goals.
How was AI last night? I missed the whole show. I don't know if I'll get to see the results show tonight either, but that's because we have church. I guess I shouldn't get all grouchy about having to go to church!
I think I will try your personal challenge idea too. My scale really hasn't budged lately -- just up or down a few pounds. So, I'm hoping maybe a short term challenge might get me some results and motivate me to keep it up!
Thanks for alll you give to this site Carrie. We're all rooting for you!

Thanks for the kind words Muppet! AHHH! Miss American Idol?? OUCH!

And now for a Little (IDOL) Chatter:

Ok, here is the rundown from my memory. Bear with me, I havent had a nap yet and I went to bed at 1am.

The theme last night was 21st Century Songs (anything in the last 6 yrs).

Lisa Tucker opened the show. She sang Kelly Clarkson's "Because of You." It was a disaster! Her singing has gone down the tubes for the last 2 weeks. Bottom 3 no question. According to the AOL Poll, she is ranked as dead last.

Kelly Pickler did some random country song about Suds in a bucket. Why she didnt do a big country singer that even non-country fans know is beyond me. She was awful.

Bucky did his usual country style. Here's guessing he will also accompany Lisa in the bottom 3.

Taylor wore casual clothes and had his hair cut and styled. He also looked like he had dropped 20 pounds. Simon said something about his style being a little Clay Aiken. Ryan S. responded that Simon's style was a little Kelly Clarkson. Seacrest 1 Cowell 0. Taylor was awesome!

Mandisa sang some religious song and sounded like she was leading a religious choir. Paula said there was a new church out there. The church of Mandisa. Simon said her performance was a little self-indulgent. Whatever...She was awesome!

Chris rocked out to Creed. A little too much rock though. Simon said that we need to see another side of him. Uh didnt he praise him for refusing to compromise last week?? He also had one other negative comment. I think it was the same one he gave to Mandisa. All in all, not a bad performance, but far from my favorite Chris song.

Paris looked great and sounded even better! I would hazzard a guess that she was the crowd favorite last night. She did a HOT version of Beyonce's "Work It Out." From the "Goldmember" soundtrack. She blew me away. Paris is back folks.

Ace was better last night than in the past couple weeks, but not great. He will stay around for his "face" value.

Elliot wasnt great either. But not horrible.

Katherine McFever" McFee, the AOL Poll leader was also having a bad night. Apparrantly so was her outfit stylist.

They are calling this the worst episode yet. No doubt. It was only an hour long and thankfully the performances were cut because some were excruciatingly bad. (Had to channel my inner Simon). I am really hoping next week is better. Part of the problem was that most of the contestants picked lousy songs. The other part was poor vocals. I think the pressure is getting to them. This is the most highly watched installment of Idol ever. (I think).

Hope that helps. Tape Idol while at church, that way everyone is happy!

Well for those of you who are wondering if I managed to get off my booty today; I did. I walked a couple of miles around campus since the weather is so awesome here. I'd have been a fool not to have taken advantage of it. It wasnt fun though. For the first half of my walk, my arches were giving me trouble. It was the kind of pain where you just want to give up and go home. But turning around and going home isnt going to get me the results I want. I know I can work through this pain, but it is awful while it lasts. For some reason today it took longer to disappear. Looks like I get to visit the Pedomitrist for Orthodics when I go home to MA to visit. Near the end of my hike, I ran 1/2 mile at the track. Not too shabby. I havent tried to seriously run any distance outside in a while so it was a little shaky on the second lap. All in all, I am proud of myself. (Wow, "Proud" just came on my computer!) I could've quit and gone home, but I didnt. It is going to take a lot more than a little pain to seperate me from my dreams. Now I am going to go and watch my favorite cranky doctor on tv before the AI results show. "Paging Dr. House...."

Wow! That is so awesome you did some running today. I really wish I could go out running. I always used to make it like 1/2 a block before I'd feel like I was gonna die! GOOD FOR YOU!

Thanks a lot Missy. For the past I dont know how many years all I have wanted to do was run. I was always so heavy that there was no way I could run and not hurt myself. I have been working on it little by little for a while now. If I had been more consistent, then I would be a stronger runner by now. Sometimes I have a lot of endurance and other days I seem to be completely drained. I cant go as far outside because I have trouble pacing myself. On the treadmill I am forced to stay at the same speed unless I change it. Practice makes perfect though. If you can do an hour on the Eliptical Monster, then I bet you can run. Have you even tried lately? I think you are stronger than you are willing to let yourself believe. If given the chance, your body can (and will) rise to the occasion. I still have quite a bit of weight to lose, but I never stop testing my boundaries. Start off with a short distance and slowly start to build when you feel ready. Going outside your comfort zone is what is going to jumpstart that metabolism and keep the plateau monster at bay. Who cares if you can only go a half a block? Did you ever think you would lose as much weight as you already have? If you are always saying, "I cant," you never give yourself the chance to say, "Heck yeah, I DID IT!" And doing something you never thought you were ready to do, makes you hungry to do it again, and even surpass that last effort. When I am running, I feel like I am temporarily able to unzip and escape my human fat suit. It doesnt get much better than that. Good luck!

Grrrr....I passed out and woke up during the last two minutes of the AI results show. That is the last time that is ever going to happen. I was excited to see Shakira perform and I slept through it!! Oh well....Another Idol hopeful is gone. (I will keep my mouth shut for now so I dont ruin it for anyone who taped the show and hasnt seen the results yet.)

Have a great night everyone! I will answer journals tomorrow when I am more coherent. Keep up the great work everyone! Together we are stronger than anything life can ever throw at us. Keep supporting each other everyday!

Hi everyone!

I am soooo exhausted, so this post may come out as gibberish. The weather here today was awesome! Too bad I am sitting here in front of the computer sulking. I told my parents that my arches were causing me a lot of pain yesterday during my walk, so my mother said to stay off my feet, and bike. Figures they are grounding me on the most beautiful day NE Ohio has seen in months. Tomorrow we are supposed to get strong storms, so I will have to go to the gym or bike. I am hesitant to get back on my bike again for any extended period of time without padded bike shorts. Since losing weight, I have lost some personal padding, so the bike seat gets very painful after a while, and it still hurts with a pillow too. I have also decided to reduce my daily caloric intake to around 1,200 cals give or take some. I didnt measure my salad or dressing today. But I am not going to gain weight on salad. And I used a smaller amount of dressing than usual. I cant wait until April 11th when I get to see if my efforts paid off. One way or another, by May 24th I will be in the 140's. Getting my monthly "friend" next week so I am sure I will be retaining water. I cant really complain though because for some reason, I have had some of my best workouts when I was dealing with PMS. Well these days I dont care how much it hurts, because being at my goal weight is more important. I can work through pain, yesterday proves that. But it makes me wonder if that was a smart move, or extremely stupid. I dont want to hurt myself, but at the same time I know I have a job to do here. Guess the quote of the day is now, "Git R Done." And that is what I am going to do. I am no longer taking "NO" for an answer when it comes to my hopes and dreams.
Be well...

~Carrie

Well today is just about over and so is the nice weather. I am hoping those strong storms dont show up tomorrow. Or if they do, it is after my shift ends. Anyway, I made myself do an hour on the bike and I covered 28 miles. Not bad considering I was tempted to just skip it anyway. But doing nothing wont help my cause, or cause "my guy" to do a double take. Went to the grocery store again today and I think I bought out the entire yogurt aisle. (Ok anything that was 90 calories or less). I have turned into quite the yogurt freak. It is just as good as ice cream. I also bought sugar free popsicles. (Less likely to binge on those). Fudgicles are my undoing...sugar free or not. I also bought a small container of semi-sweet chocolate shavings. I have to get creative with "dessert." I cant always put cinnamon on my yogurt. It is supposed to be good for your metabolism. (Fact or fiction?). They also say that there are antioxidents in chocolate, so maybe a little each day is healthy. I am in no way shape or form addicted to semi sweet or dark chocolate. No worries there. Been downloading from ITunes like a crazy person. Guess it makes the cravings and binges go away. Hey, ya gotta do what ya gotta do. For some reason I am starving and have been for the past few hours. I am not going to do anything about it. I didnt take a nap today and I am betting I will be passed out by the time my head hits the pillow. So I'd like to see the Late Night Munchie Monster win out over sheer exhaustion. Not gonna happen. I am zonked, and I have to be at work at 530 tomorrow morning. At least I am done before 12 noon and it is Friday. TGIF...Ok I have lost track of this post, so I am going to call it a night.

I have a real sweet tooth too!! and can find it really hard not to give in to the cravings, i have learnt now not to buy sweets and chocolate in bulk for the kids as i could quite happily just sit and eat the whole lot. And the thing is i never had sweets eveyday when i was a kid so why should they? Luckily though they both love fruit!! I am not keen on Dark chocolate either but they do say it is better to eat that dont they?
