Letting go of a car you've had for a long time is hard. It is just a car but if you spend a lot of time in it and it treated you well it's easy to become attached. I sold my Ford Focus in July and it was sad when the new owner came and took it out of my driveway. It was my very first car and I drove it for 5 years while going to university but had to let it go when I bought myself a new 2007 Toyota Yaris sedan. But I absolutely LOVE my new car and can't imagine driving anything else.

So from one Toyota to another soon-to-be-owner - Welcome to the Toyota family!

Even with all the positive stuff about the Corolla (including great gas mileage); I am still wanting my old car. If all goes according to plan; my father will be out here by noon on Thursday. We will run to the DMV and get all that junk done, probably stop by the insurance agent's office, go to lunch and then he is going to sleep for a few hours and then head back to MA with my Volkswagon. Very quick visit.

Wish I had taken today off too. But I am relieved at 12:06 so that isnt too terrible. Time to get in the shower. I dont want a repeat performance of yesterday....running in half dressed, hair unbrushed and dripping...just making it to the time clock.

Today is turning into a rather nice day; sunny but breezy. Had the heat on in my bus but the driver window open. Go figure. Yeah I am weird.

Have any of you ever had one of those "Oh wow!" moments that just stop you in your tracks? Well I did today.

I was driving my favorite 40 ft monster through town and was running about 6 mins late because I had to go through the schedules and transfer information with a passenger. When I got to the next town; I had a mother and 2 very young girls get off the bus at the back. One girl had to have been about 3-4 and the other maybe 5-6. The little blonde 3 yr old walks up to the front of the bus with her sister and waves at me with a huge smile. I waved back and smiled. What happened next stopped my heart in it's tracks and I dont think I will ever forget it. She looked at me and said; "You're pretty." Two simple words that touched the hearts of everyone who was within earshot. I have absolutely NO clue how I didnt lose it right then and there. Everyone who either has kids or who has worked with them know that when children are very young they are very blunt to a fault. They view the world through innocent eyes and speak their minds whenever they see fit. Usually you only hear the horror stories of little kids walking up to an overweight person and uttering the obvious...usually very loudly. They dont mean anything by it; they just havent been taught to use disgression. But back to this little girl...who taught her the word pretty? Why did she feel the need to tell me? Will she still have the same graceful acceptance in her when she is 18? I sincerely hope that this little girl stays as open hearted to others as she grows up and never changes. Maybe this 3 yr old already knows what 95% of the human population doesnt...That beauty does come in all different shapes and sizes. And that beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder. Why did I have to learn that I was still beautiful no matter what current my size was...from a 3 yr old? She is wise beyond her years and I hope she never changes. I dont think she will ever know how meaningful those two little words were. But even better; she ment them.

Well I did the final car cleaning....vaccum and armorall. Looks pretty spiffy. Still feeling really low about this. I know "it's just a car," but is it? Bet if it hadnt flunked e-check it wouldnt be going back east. I always knew that eventually I would get another car when I got full time; but this was sooner than I anticipated. At least I wont have to drive around with the check engine light staring back at me. That is one good thing. And the Corolla will have fresh paint vs 11 year old paint.

I really need to snap out of all this crap that is getting me down. 1 good thing though; I am out of the weeds with the hives. Occasionally I will get an itch; but nothing like before. (knock on wood).

2 hours and counting til BL. I am already getting nervous. If Kai or Heather wins I think I am going to toss my tv out the window. NOT kidding.

Talking 3 year olds

Carrie...as you know my little Ken is 3 years old. You are so right...they speak what it is they are truly thinking. Sometimes I wonder where she gets it...lol. There have been times when she tells me that my butt is big...BUT every single day she tells me how pretty I am. She thinks that I am the BEST...she thinks that I am the PRETTIEST...it is the best feeling in the world. This little girl that said this to you is saying what we have all been trying to tell you...YOU ARE A BEAUTIFUL PERSON! Isn't it funny how a complete stranger (even being 3 years old) opens our eyes? I guess b/c they are being honest with us...and most of the time it is something we need to hear whether we like it or not. YOU NEEDED TO HEAR THIS! I'm glad this little girl had the ability to open your eyes.

Love Ya Girlie!
