~Missy in November~
I guess I'll start a new journal for this month. I'm not sure why though, I'm extremely dissapointed with the way things are right now and how everyone has just seemed to give up on themselves. It makes me very angry. I don't get in and post as much as I used to either, but that's only because I don't see a point, there's not many people who bother to read my journals anymore except a select few.
My work Christmas party is tonight. I'm not sure why they're having it so early. My guess is they left it too long and forgot to call in a booking and then this was the only date they could get. It's at the Hilton Hotel here, so pretty ritzy and formal. As far as I know for supper I am getting a garden salad, turkey, stuffing and veggies and then some kind of chocolate cake for dessert..wine on the tables. We had a choice between turkey and salmon for supper, and I can't stand the taste of salmon...so I went with what I love.
My sister invited my parents, Matt and I over for supper tomorrow night. Her boyfriend and her are going to be doing the cooking, so I don't know what they're making.
Anyways...back to the old grindhouse on Monday (the gym) haha. I'm determined to get this last bit of weight off before our wedding.

I'm liking the way the show is going so far....there's more women there than men now and I would REALLY love to see a woman win this year. I think they have a good chance this time around.
Not much new with me. The weather has been really chilly here, so I'm thinking of putting my fleece bedding on this weekend. Other than that, we just have grocery shopping, laundry and cleaning to do this weekend.
We've been putting aside some money for Christmas shopping too because I don't like to use credit cards..I like having the actual money there. Our wedding fund is getting rather big too. I forgot to mention that the place we're having the reception called us a week ago and told us we won first place in the draw they had. So now, we get 10% off our total bill. We were very happy to hear we could save more money on the wedding.
Today is cheat day...not sure what we'll have yet. I kind of have my craving for nachos. I make them with the multigrain tostitos, hot salsa, lean ground turkey, jalapeno peppers, fat free sour cream and low fat cheese.

I'm going to keep posting here although I'm one of the only ones...I'm sure that some new person will be browsing the site and stumble across my journal and find inspiration in me. I'm proud of myself for not giving up...the support on this message board was what kept me going for this last year and 1/2...it sickens me to see what happened to it. I don't care what anyone else does...I'm going to stay accountable..and get to my goal.
I had a good workout today...we did shoulders, triceps and abs. I spent 40 min on the elliptical and burned 420 calories.

Hey Missy,
I know what you mean about this site. We had such a fantastic group going for such a long time. I don't know why so many have dropped out, but it's happened at other sites too. It gets discouraging because you kind of come to count on interacting with people on these sites, and then they disappear all of the sudden with no explanation...
I've done it myself, so I don't mean to criticize, but I always thought that the lulls in activity would be just that, and that things would pick up again eventually.
I think that's a big reason why I've lost my enthusiasm for this forum and for other sites like this. The support you come to rely on, and the people you get to know are there one day, and then gone the next. It makes me sad.
I've also been super busy because we moved, but we've been in our new house for a week now, and I hope to get back into some kind of normal routine soon.
So I'm going to try and post in my journal. But I don't know how consistent I'll be about doing it.
Congratulations on all you've accomplished. It's so nice to see you still post because even if others don't reply to your journal, I bet lots are reading it and do get inspired.
Carol

Didn't go to the gym today because I pulled something in my back the other day and it's really been bothering me all day today. I don't have the slighest idea as to what I did to cause it either. Hoping it feels better tomorrow though, if not I might wait until Monday to go back to the gym...and just give it time to rest/heal.

Matt is like a little kid at Christmas...he loves it more than most people I know. He goes on and on about how we need a house with a fireplace so we can hang the stockings and how when we have children we need to listen to Christmas carols during dinner...he's so cute though! It makes it more fun for me! Sooo...that being said...we are putting up the Christmas tree this weekend along with all the decorations. Yes..it may seem a bit early, but I need to settle this excited boy down a bit! We hung the lights out on the balcony last weekend, haven't had them on yet though.
Tomorrow night we are going to the movies (the cheap one by our place)...costs $3/person..to see The Bourne Ultimatum.
On Sunday we might do some Christmas shopping. I really want to get it out of the way. I absolutely HATE shopping in December. I avoid the stores as much as possible because there are so many rude & snotty people out and about. I have some things in mind of what I'm going to buy people...usually I have no clue!
Matt wants me to go to his big family Christmas this year with all his cousins etc...I've never been! I haven't even met a lot of these people and we've been together over 6 years *LMAO* I know some of them because I've met them at weddings...but I haven't met all his cousins and stuff and they want to meet me since I'm marrying Matt hehe. I'm supposed to pick up a gift for that too because they play a game or something for gifts. Anyways...his big family thing is on December 15th.
We have Christmas Eve off this year at work because our company decided to close. So I'm going to have a 5 day weekend for Christmas...and then the following week Matt & I both booked Dec 31st off...so we get a 4 day weekend....and we might do something for New Year's.
My moms side big family Christmas is on Dec 23rd this year...not sure if Matt will come or not. Depends whether he goes to Windsor.
Anyways...there's my little Christmas update....tonight's cheat night on our diet!

I can't believe how soon Christmas will be here. I haven't given it a thought. We had a few flurries today, and chances of snow this week. I don't really want the snow for the mess and driving hazards it causes, but it is so pretty. I'm starting to see more and more decorations out. I don't like to see them before our Thanksgiving though. One holiday at a time for me! Our Thanksgiving is this Thursday. I am excited because for once we don't have to drive for hours. My in-laws place is less than 2 miles from mine.
Have fun decorating! HO HO HO!!

My back still hurts, I have no idea what I did to it though. I probably pulled something when I was working out last week or something. I went to the gym today and did a bit of a workout...didn't finish because my back was hurting. So...might have to take a few more days off from the gym. BLARG!
Not much else is new..excited to watch the BL tonight.
SOILER ALERT( in case Phil reads):
I'm really happy that the majority of contestants still left on the show are women!!! I am really hoping one of them win this year.

have you ever considered seeing a chiropractor? Last spring when I was seriously into my weight loss and exercise program, my back started giving me problems when I ran. I initially blamed it on my old running shoes and bought a new pair. That seemed to help a bit but the pain came back eventually. I even thought I might have a bulging disc and had an MRI done (at a considerable expense). They found nothing. What a waste that was. I eventually went to a chiropractor and after 4 - 5 visits, I was pain free and have been running "happily" ever since. I was surprised to find my insurance even covered some of the expense.
