Sue's November Noodlings
I'm feeling kind of disappointed right now that there isn't more going on with this board. Last year while the BL season was in full swing, there were quite a few people posting, and now it's so dead, even though the show is going on.
I have had a really good breakthrough with my recovery from my total knee replacement surgery. Just yesterday morning, when I was two weeks post-surgery, I was wondering when the pain would ever abate, because I still had constant pain. Then poof! Within the past 24 hours, my pain has morphed into something less intense, more of a discomfort rather than full-fledged pain. Now I can suddenly sleep more deeply and longer, and I can do a little more without getting quite so tired or overwhelmed.
That said, I'm off to do my exercises and then hit the shower.

I'm kind of angry if anything that there aren't more people posting on here. It feels like everyone just threw in the towel and gave up on everything. It might not be the case, but that's what it feels like and it really makes me mad...lol sorry.
Glad to hear your knee is doing much better, I bet it's a relief not having the constant pain.

No need to apologize for your feelings, Missy! I think it's sad, too, that people aren't utilizing the support network that was working so well here last year...and before that. I only joined a little over a year ago myself, but this board has been one of the big things that has helped me lose 30 lbs in that year.
When there was a lag in the action here last year, after the BL season was over, I found a really good Healthy Eating group on myspace.com that I like a lot. It's a different kind of board...more about scientific information that people who want to eat healthy should know...but I figure the more types of support I get, the better.

I'm able to spend more time up and about as the days progress. It's still easy to overdo and end up with my knee swelling and aching, but I am able to take on more things. So today I turned my eBay and Amazon stores back on. Betsy said she would help me with the packing, and I'm sure we can get the stuff to the post office one way or another.
I just have a few more in-home PT sessions. Next week I start going to outpatient PT, and I may begin driving, too. I'm really sick of sitting around, doing leisure-type stuff!

I haven't got a lot of news to share, because I am pretty much just staying at home and recuperating from my knee surgery. I did, however, "graduate" from in-home physical therapy yesterday, and I found a really great place to go for outpatient PT. They have warm water therapy in addition to gym-type machines. They are also very holistic, and they said they would not only rehab my new knee, but also teach me how to work my other knee so it lasts a very long time!
I'm looking forward to getting out of the house even if it's just for physical therapy. I did try getting out once this week, but it was a little premature and I ended up having an increase in knee swelling and pain afterwards. Ah, well. At least I know.
My range of motion has increased a lot in the three weeks since my surgery. I can bend my knee 99 degrees and I still can't quite put my leg out straight, but I am at 5 degrees (much better than the 15 degrees I had before the surgery!).

Have you ever been talking with someone when some else walks up and immediately cuts into the conversation? I feel a bit like that person butting in. Being new to the whole blogging thing I may not have my computer ediquette down right but I was wondering how FrugalSue was getting along since her surgery.

Sue how are you doing?
There was so much going on these past few months, I just didnt have the time to post anything. Up before 5 and trying to get to bed before 10, the schedule is a little better at least.
Love you all, welcome to all that are new. This is a great place! I have got to catch up on emails, I have a few from here I need to reply to. Its one of those things where you just dont know what to say because so much changes from day to day.
Sorry for hijacking your journal Sue, I pray you are improving everyday and on the way to pain free romping around!
