Rocky's Road --> October 2007

September was an interesting month. I gained the weight I lost in August.. so I'm back up to 230, but I feel a lot better than I did at the begining of August. I have been getting back to the gym 2 times a week. Which is still a little too much for my back... but I'm trying to take it easy. I am also taking a water bootcamp class every Wed night and it is amazing! I love it. The water works as such a great resistance when we are using the weights. We have only had one class so far and I was already looking forward to next week the second we finished. (The hot tub afterwards is a nice treat too.)

I am really trying to get back into decent shape before snowboarding season starts. I am going to have to take it easy no matter what, if I ever want my back to heal properly, but that doesn't mean NOT going snowboarding to me. Just taking it easy when I go. And the better I feel the less chance of injury.

This month is also my birthday month. So I am really looking forward to that.

Hope everyone is doing well! I'm going to try and get in here more often this month.

So far October is going GREAT!

Oct. 1 workout: Cardio day. 45 min. cross trainer, 20 min. treadmill.
Oct. 2 workout: Cardio/Upper body: 30 min. cross trainer. Biceps/triceps/shoulders/back ~20 min., 10 min. treadmill.
Oct. 3 workout: Water Bootcamp for 1hr.

I have been eating really well the past few days also. I need to start tracking again.

Just got back from my water bootcamp cl**** and my whole body feels like jello. It was such an amazing workout again. I love it!!!! I think tomorrow is going to be a rest day for some muscle recovery.

Hi Rocky. High protein sources (eg a can of tuna) really help with muscle recovery. I take a protein shake within 30 mins of finishing a workout. Also Creatine helps reduce muscle soreness but should only be used over short periods IMHO

Thanks for the advise phil! I actually went out and bought some protein powder today because of all the new exciting workouts I have been doing. I feel so great even after just 3 days. The trick NOW is to keep with it. Today was a good recovery day. Went out and bought tons of good foods. LOTS of fruits and veggies. Also got some painting in (door frames) which is always oodles of fun. Back to the gym tomorrow. I actually kind of missed it today.

Today was pretty laid back. Didn't get to the gym like I had planned but I did do a T-TAP workout, and a 20 min. one on TBL DVD. So I'm feeling pretty good.

Thanksgiving is this weekend, which is a little scary. I am going to 2 seperate dinners, one on sunday one on monday. I am really hoping I'll be able to control myself and not over-eat.

Man I love thanksgiving. We had so much fun out at my grandma's farm, the kids expecially. It was great. But I did eat WAYYYY too much. It was all so good. And there were about 5 different desents that were to die for. My family are all just too good of cooks. Hahaha. Ah well, back on track starting tomorrow. Hope everyone had a GREAT thanksgiving!
