Talking ~Missy in September~

I'm starting September off in high spirits. My fiance and I did all our caliper measurements and weigh in this morning and I lost a pound this week!! According to the bodyfat caliper, my bodyfat went down 4mm on the caliper and put me at 30.2% bodyfat now!!! That's a huge difference! I was going to do measurements with the measuring tape as well, but my fiance thinks it would be better to those only once a month since the change will be so small weekly.

After getting groceries today, we stopped in and saw the chapel we'd like to book for our wedding. I was a bit iffy about it when I first saw pictures on the internet, but I think it's a cute chapel and it would work perfectly. There are 32 pews that sit about 8 people comfortably, so it's plenty big enough. There's even a few little neat areas outside of the chapel we can take some pictures at.

We rented some "older" movies for the weekend that we've never seen. We picked up World Trade Centre, Pirates of the Carribean Dead Man's Chest and Equalibrium. We're going to see the new Pirates this coming Tuesday and hadn't seen the second one, so we decided to rent it. Other than that, I'm spending the long weekend doing some cleaning and laundry. Tomorrow (Sunday), I think we are going to go to a park for the day. They have concession booths and dog shows and car show...lots of stuff going on, so we might go check it out.

We are having our "cheat meal" today too. I'm making chicken burgers with some low fat french fries!! I was shocked to see them in the aisle when we were there, didn't think they had low fat ones, but they are awesome for our meal! Have some diet, caffeine free coke to drink with it.

This is a long post, but September is also my birthday month. I will be turning 27 on September 18th. Matt is taking me to a restaurant that we've never tried before, it's called the Alex P Keaton. It's hard to believe I'm going to be 27 already though, time sure flies when you're out of school. It's even harder to believe I'm finally getting married in October of next year, I'll be 28 and then we'll soon be thinking about starting a family which is pretty exciting!!

I'm going to kick butt this month and try to turn up the intensity. I am trying really hard to get to my goal for my wedding. According to the caliper, my "ideal" body weight is about 137 pounds (that's at a 14% bodyfat) and pure muscle then, which means I still have 36 more pounds to go to get there....and about 12 1/2 months to do it!

I just joined a new challenge over at weighins. I haven't been in one for a long time and I'm not really there for the competition so much this time, I'm there for the support and motivation. I've been lacking in that department for some time now and I think it's one of my main problems why I'm not losing more.

I posted up a comparison picture from when I was at my heaviest of 261 pounds to where I am today at 173 pounds and just seeing the change in myself on the screen brought tears to my eyes. I shouldn't be so hard on myself because I have made a HUGE difference. It's just frustrating when I'm trying so hard for the results and not getting them.

Anyways, here's the picture.

The pictures are a wee bit off because they were taken with different cameras in different locations, but you can still can a general idea of how far I've come.

My fiance and I spent yesterday at a few different parks. We found some incredible places to take our wedding pictures. The one park has these cute little stone archways and things that would be neat, and the other has little white bridges over a pond. They both have beautiful flower gardens and they both have rivers with ducks and geese...the pictures would be gorgeous!

Didn't get to the gym today because my left leg is really hurting for some odd reason. I'm not sure if it's a reaction to my new orthotics (the chiropractor said I could have some new leg or knee pain etc)...or if I pulled something. It's a sharp shooting pain that is just above my left knee and goes up towards the hip. I took the day off needless to say.

My fiance and I are going to the movies tonight to see the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie. It's been out for awhile, but the cheap theatre near our place gets the movies a few months late. It only costs $3/each to get in, that's why we love going to this theatre instead of Famous Players. We're taking our own snacks along. I always get tempted by the food there, so we bought some of those 100 cal packs of oreo cracker thingys...they kinda taste like air haha.

We have a councelling session tomorrow, so I'll have to miss the gym yet again *sigh*. The councelling is basically like marriage councelling. I actually called another councelling place today and am going to get 12 sessions...just for myself. Basically to work on some self-esteem and confidance issues. I think it's important to do along with my weight loss, because I won't necessarily be happy with just "being smaller" because most weight problems are a result of something emotional. Anyways, so I'm working on a better me basically.

The change in your pictures is awesome, Missy!

I think it's great that you're doing some counseling, too. There is a huge emotional component to weight loss, and it's important to deal with it.

Sue

Thank you

I don't have too much to update on. Still doing my daily workout rituals haha. I'm waiting for the boards to get more active again once the show starts tomorrow, can't wait!!

I have to renew my license tomorrow and get a new picture, there goes a bunch of money out the window.

Just watched the show, pretty excited about the new season!! Really happy Jillian is back on the show with the black team. Kim is definately my hero though...she is what I am determined to look like. That is the vision I see in my goals.

I teared up already within the first 5 minutes of the show. I'm so glad it's back on because I've really been lacking in the motivation department and I need to get off this plateau that's been dragging on for months now of not losing weight!

The first few minutes of the show really got me teared up, too, Missy. When people tell their stories of how they got so overweight, what problems it's causing them in their lives, and how motivated they are to lose weight because they have people they love and so on--oh, yeah, that totally chokes me up.

It looks like a really great bunch of contestants this year. I was only annoyed at two of them (so far!) and they got rid of one of those LOL.

I'm right there with ya on the motivational path...definitely needed the show to get me back into gear. I have put on so much weight over the summer (while being back with Dan) and I'm determined to get it off. I am also in a weighins challenge...my prob is that I do not have internet service where I am staying right now so it is difficult to get my info in every day and post pics. I am back in it for the motivation, too. I have been slacking on everything over the summer and it definitely shows...I can't believe that I was at 168 pounds in May and back up to 198 now...URGH!

The show was amazing...I was crying within 5 minutes of the show, too. I love how they have the black team this year...it's great! I am glad that Jillian is back, too...does she look thinner to you? She did to me! I am still rooting for Bob's team and already have my favorites and dislikes...lol.

I know I have told you on myspace about you lookin' so good but you are such an inspiration. You have never given up on yourself and you keep going stronger each day. Keep on keeping on!

I'm hoping to get back in here, as well. TTYL MUCH LOVE

Hey Missy-

Your before picture compared to your current picture is amazing! You've done so much hard work, you're a real inspiration to me. I also love your site, it's got so much great advice. Thanks!

I'm sure you'll lose that 36lbs before your wedding, that's about 3 lbs a month, right? You can do it.

Take care
