Had my cardio workout today, spent an hour on the elliptical and burned 620 calories.

Looking forward to the long weekend coming up...might be spending some time with my parents.

My sister is moving, so I will be getting some of her furniture as well....a spare double bed and a couch. The couch I have is pretty much done...it's about 20 something years old...my parents got it for an anniversary present *LOL*

Hey.....have you gotten your orthotics yet? I remember when I first got mine. My Dr. laughed at me when I complained about them touching the arch of my foot. I asked him why the felt that way.....he lol...and said....a because they are supporting your arch? I have such a high instep that I had never had any of the arch supports in shoes even come close to supporting it. I also remember the period of time that it took to become used to wearing them (the break in period). I thought....oh they don't know what they are talking about....I can wear them longer. Oh...they knew exactly what they were talking about. I had such bad cramps in my feet and legs....that I went right back to their schedule of wear. I haven't worn them for years, but if I get them again....I am going to get soft ones. Mine were 3/4 length and made of hard plastic. They didn't have any give or cushion to them...but they really did help with the pain. In fact the tearing pain that I had in the back if my ankle and calf went away within 1 month.

Good Luck with them!

Yeah, I got my orthotics this past Saturday. I've been wearing them for an hour or two at a time just to get used to them. He recommended that and then to build up more and more. I'm supposed to wait 2 weeks before working out with them in. It does feel weird with the pressure on the arches, and is a bit awkward...but I need to correct my feet before they get worse.

I did the weight circuit room today....or as I like to call it the dreaded fat burn room. I increased my weights again on some of the machines. I managed to do 215 pounds on my triceps today using the tricep dip machine.

Didn't have time for cardio since we went in to talk with the chiropractor for a bit.

I'm going to be trying the zig-zag method with my calories. It's supposed to help with a plateau. I have a book on it...it works something like eating 1500 cals one day and then 2300 the next and then maybe 1800 the following etc...pretty much used to shock the body into the unknown.

Just finished my workout. Today was cardio day, so I spent an hour on the elliptical and burned 630 calories today. I must have been pushing myself pretty hard today because my lower back hurts a bit now. I'll maybe get Matt to massage it a bit tonight and I'll put some ice on it. Hopefully I didn't pull anything.

Todays Food:

Breakfast: 2 omega-3 eggs, 1 pc flax toast w/sugar free jam, 1/2 banana, 15 almonds, skim milk
Snack: small piece of cake...ACK! (it was a lady's 25th anniversary at work...she's been there 25 years)
Lunch: turkey sandwich on flax bread, 1 apple, a handful of grapes
Snack: 13 almonds...didn't eat the rice cakes to make up for the calories from cake!
Supper: toasted chicken breast sandwich w/mustard, lettuce, hot peppers
Snack: protein shake, fruit bar

Drank 2.5 litres of water today

It's the last day of August....which means summer is coming to an end. Not looking forward to the colder weather. I'll be starting a new journal and a new chapter in my weight loss journey tomorrow.

Each Saturday I'm doing a weigh in, taking measurements and checking my bodyfat using the caliper to track my progress. So, tomorrow I'll be seeing whether or not I changed any numbers from working out this past week.

Kinda mad today though because we went to go do our workout...and the power was out in the gym. So they had the emergency lights on..we decided to try and do a workout anyways. Then the manager comes around and tells us he decided to close the gym...GRRRR

Anyways, it's a long weekend and I'm looking forward to it. My parents dropped by last night with the bed and couch. Might be seeing them again on Sunday if the weather co-operates.

Have a great weekend everyone
