I figure I've spent way too much time saying "well just one", or "one more day won't hurt". Well, "just one" and "one more day won't hurt" ends up turning into sixteen years!

Well, I THINK I've just made up my mind that I HAVE to make good choices. (notice I said I "think". I'm not in the midst of a weak moment.) Besides, I convinced myself that I just COULDN'T eat the nachos, because if I did, that was less money we'd make in profit! and I wasn't about ready to pay for something I had just spent an hour making at home!

Today is Valentine's day. Candy, Candy everywhere and not a bite to eat!!! Yippee!!! I had a roastbeef sandwich with american cheese and a mountain dew for lunch. I know I should have forgone the dew, but once again I find myself unprepared w/o my h2o. This should be a lesson learned. Earlier I had a glass of tea, of course it had my normal load of sugar in it, but I figured it was better than another dew! After school it was a cup of yogurt 220 calories, and for supper tonight it's a salad with abt 3 oz of chicken and a boiled egg. Everything else consists of vegetables and LIGHT italian dressing. lol, I just typed syrup!!! That would be because the kids are having pancakes and hash for supper. I know not exactly healthy, but we don't have it very often either. One perk about working in the cafeteria at the school is I get to bring home the "left overs", and considering my kids don't buy lunches, they technically aren't "left overs" to them. Oh well, that's just my day...

OH...I love peanut butter - I add it to my celery for my snacks. Believe it or not it takes away the cravings for something sweet - don't know how that happens but I never have a craving after eating it.
Elizabeth - like I have said before...I am glad that you have upped your calories - you need that fuel to function through the day. It's like driving a car without putting fuel into it - it just isn't going to go anywhere - it will spit and sputter until it gets more fuel. Good job!

I have to ask - do you eat the sandwich with the chili? I do this - well, it is a peanut butter sandwich...I grew up going to family reunions with this mixture...OMG it is so good. My husband thinks I am crazy!

It is tough having candy laying around the house. My children have understood that I don't want a lot of junk food in the house b/c I don't want to have any temptations. They were very surprised when they walked in the door with candy spread over the counter (in place of their seats) - I had a tiny bit of chocolate but that was it...my daughter wanted me to taste it b/c she felt that it tasted nasty. I tasted it for her and told her that ANY chocolate tasted awesome at this point in time...lol. She just giggled!
When they finish dinner I am going to have them hide the candy...I don't want to see it! Out of sight - out of mind!

Great job on valentine's day. One Mountain Dew is not going to undo every positive choice you have made so far. In the grand scheme of things, one Dew is better than a box of candy, a whole pizza, or a plate of fries. You cant be good all the time. There is such a thing as being too good. If you deny yourself, one day there will be a binge.
MMMM peanut butter! I try and avoid it because I could eat a jar of it in a single sitting. There are PB's out there with Omega 3's, Omega 6's, and Flaxseed. Must be refrigerated though. Carb Options is good too.
Somebody mentioned Yoplait. I used to love the Key Lime Pie, Boston Cream Pie, Lemon Chiffon, Mixed Berry, pretty much all of them. I switched to Danon Light 'N Lively because it was only 90 cals a serving. Yogurt is a great treat. Does anyone ever add cinnamon to their yogurt? Yummy...
Love,
~Carrie

I can relate to this. I started out doing really well with Atkins...then I had the "Carb relap." Ohh, one bite of noodles won't hurt. I just wanted a taste... and that one taste turned into twenty more pounds gained on top of the fourty pounds I had lost.
I look at food now as I did my cigarettes. It's an addiction. I cannot just have one cigarette ever again, because that one will lead me to smoking a pack a day again. Just like I know I cannot have that one krispy kreme, or that one chilli cheese dog. As much as it pains me to admit it, I know I was a compulsive eatter. I didn't eat because I was hungry....I ate to fill a void.
