I do not know if any of you can relate to this-- My struggle is breaking my thought patterns . For example, Sunday, I realized I had not exercised in three days two of which I had some free time before work to do it . So I get mad at myself for not doing it and down a whole row of saltines and I didn't bring planned meals to work and things started going down hill I was snacking
on things. Luckily, I am more in touch with myself and I was able to go to kickboxing on Monday night and the grocery store to buy some fruits and vegetables and get back on track.
Can anyone relate???
I am a very loving and giving person to my friends and family, now I am trying to be my own best friend.

I can relate completely with you on this one. Our intentions and our actions are not always the same. We all have to work on following through on our intentions and making them actions.

This seems to be very simple...I will be trying these out, too. Thanks!

THANKS! I have forgiven myself and I think that is what is helping me get through today. You could not have said it any better than you did about being your own best friend. I have finally realized that I cannot be at my best @ 245lbs...I have to lose it so I can give my best to my chillins and hubby.
It's okay that you had struggled a couple of days...just keep reminding yourself of how good you are going to look when you hit your goal weight. Best wishes!

Another potato thing we often do is chop up a couple potatoes, chop up some onions, put them in a baking dish, spray with I can;t believe it's not butter spray and toss on some spices... I usually use some garlic powder (or miced garlic) and Emeril's Essense - baked for an hour at 400 degrees (i also cover them with alluminum foil

CONGRATULATIONS!
I tried every way to include french fries in a healty diet, and just decided that they have to go for now. maybe when I get down to my goal weight, I can make some healthier ones every once in a while, but for now, with my turkey burgers, I have either asparagus, brocolli, or even extra salad and and have fruit as my desert. The calories in the veggies and fruit are a lot less than the potatoes, and the fruit actually seems like a dessert because it's sweet!
Still doesn't solve the craving for salt though......

Well...I was out for the day yesterday. My hubby had his knee surgery and we were in the hospital all day. I was upset while eating lunch b/c I thought if I got a salad from McD's it would be the best and wisest choice....boy, was I wrong. I felt so guilty eating it - it tasted nasty - my only thought "This has more calories than a value meal." ... needless to say I only ate 1/3 of my salad and ate my chicken. It was awful.
I also felt bad b/c I didn't get my exercise in for the day...I didn't want to walk around the hospital b/c I didn't want to miss the doc or in case they needed me for something. The only walking I did was to go get something to eat for lunch, get his crutches out of the car, and to eat for dinner. I guess I could have taken the stairs instead of the elevator - NO - I wouldn't have done that b/c it was in a hospital that I didn't feel real safe being alone.
Well...for dinner I went back down to McD and got a Value Meal - with a coke. The nurse later brought out a coke for me to drink. I didn't have much water through the day either. First day I didn't reach my goals. Urgh!
TODAY...I was busy running errands for my husband and running to the store. I made a pit stop and weighed myself at the doc's office - in ONE week I lost 3 lbs. YIPPEEEEEEEEE! I couldn't believe that I had lost 3 lbs in such a short time...this definitely gives me motivation to keep on keeping on. I have done really well with my eating today - had a Special K cereal bar for breakfast...had my water - today I had 80 oz...for lunch I had celery w/ ranch dressing...for dinner I had chicken strips (baked in the oven), mashed potatoes (1.5 cups), and mixed veggies, w/ a Sprite. I think I did pretty good today. Although, I didn't go for my 2 mile walk I think that I walked plenty today...getting up and down many many times for hubby plus my running this afternoon.
I bought Leslie Sansone's video Walk Away the Pounds...I viewed it tonight and will be starting that in the morning. I will be doing this each morning while the kids are getting ready for school. I will be up @ 6:30 moving around a bunch...I hope it drives the neighbors crazy. lol (they are so loud)
I also got my measurements down for the first time. I weighed myself last week but didn't get my measurements in. I will be doing this each Thursday. I am just so excited about losing 3 lbs....

Patty,
If you happen to find yourself in a situation again, and end up at Mc Donalds, try their Fruit and Walnut Salad. I don't eat the walnuts, but, I do eat the apples and grapes with the vanilla yogurt. It's probably not as healthy as a salad I make at home, but, it's far better then eatting a double quarter pounder like I used to.
I do hope your husband is okay, and he recovers quickly. And Congrats on the 3lbs. You doubled what you need to lose weekly!!
I wish you all the best....

Thank you for the tip. The reason I didn't get the Fruit & Walnut Salad is b/c the walnuts...I didn't think about taking them out. Duh! My husband is doing okay - he is in quite a bit of pain but doing okay. I was afraid that he would be nauseated with all the medicine but he is doing really well. Thanks!

LOL I just figured that out the hard way! I was not getting enough calories, and working out too much. I felt fine at the time, but I finally crashed and burned yesterday. I did exercise, just not as much. I felt spacey and grouchy all day, so I upped my calories and came home and didn't work out anymore last night. I ate dinner at 5 pm and went to bed at 9pm to get my full 8 hrs of sleep. I got up at 5:30 and hit the treadmill this morning renewed!

3 lbs is awesome!!!! You're doing great, don't beat yourself up about the salad and stuff from McDonald's. That's all in the past now just look forward. I tried something new for me at McDonald's the other day, the fruit & yogurt parfait. I am not a yogurt eater at all but this was really good. It had granola you could sprinkle on it, very yummy. I got me that and a chicken sandwich and ended up just eating the parfait and gave the sandwich to my daughter.
I'm glad you bought the walking video. I hope you enjoy it! I've been getting up in the mornings and doing the biggest loser video, I wasn't sure I liked it at first but it's growing on me. I think it's going to give me some good results. I've even learned to love Bob. LOL
Keep up the good work!!!
