Hi from Mississippi!

Hello! I think I found this website a couple of weeks ago while trying to find out info about the two trainers on The Biggest Loser, Jillian & Bob. And I’ve been checking it regularly since then. Thanks for putting all of this together and updating us on everything! I absolutely love The Biggest Loser. I have to admit at first I did not. I was a “FitTV snob” and thought the Biggest Loser was exploiting heavier people at the expense of viewer ratings. After watching for two years now I admit I was wrong. It seems, at least from all that is shown to the viewer, they truly do try their very best to teach people how to change their behavior and deal with long-term solutions. I LOVE this! This show has got to be inspiring an untold number of people to get healthier. I love the mix of people and personalities that participate. The only things I wish we could see more of is the hard core information like daily menus, food choices, nutrition counseling, calorie-counting, workout routines. But I realize that stuff isn’t as exciting or necessarily good for prime time tv viewing. Maybe all of this is in the DVD and book? You know what one of the best things is about this show? I lost about 65-69 pounds over a year ago and I’m maintaining — barely sometimes. This show just reinforces my committment each and every week! Hallelujah for that. People do need to be reminded that living healthy is every day, every week and every month. A continuation of healthy counseling and education, even if it’s via a prime time tv show, is a blessing. Thanks for the blog and forums!

hello

and welcome to the boards! We are all going to be learning all this together! I don't know much about the book yet but hope to soon...I'm sure there are some in here who may be able to help on that part...

Hi Allie,

Welcome! Congrats on the awesome weight loss! My feelings about the show at the beginning sound a lot like yours. I was hesitant to watch because I thought it would be just making fun of heavy people (and having about 150 pounds myself to lose I just didn't want to take that wrong) but now I am glad I watched. I watched for years, as a spectator, but finally a couple of weeks ago took the step off the sideline and got in the game.
Welcome and glad you are here!

I would like to see more of the actual medical information. They say a doctor was involved, etc..., but I would really like to see how each program was taylored for each individual.
