Hi All,
I am new here, but certainly not an amateur when it comes to losing weight. I've been overweight most of my life, and I've probably lost hundreds of lbs with all of the unhealthy diets I've been on including starvation. Needless to say I've gained it all back and then some....but I've learned something every time. On January 7th of 2008 I started a lifestyle change instead of another diet. I started at a weight of 342 lbs and as of this email (March 22nd) I have lost 42 lbs putting me at my new weight of 300 lbs. I picked and chose the best of all that I learned over the years and created my own principles/strategy for losing weight. My goal is to lose 100-150 lbs before my birthday in December of 2008. In the past my biggest problem was COMMITEMENT. I'd always say to myself, "You need to Lose weight", but after a couple of weeks of working out and eating little I'd give up and disappoint only myself. This time I took a different approach....I decided to tell as many people as I could about my plans to lose weight....but I wasn't happy just telling family, friends and colleagues....so I created my own website, "www.TheBiggestCanadianLoser.com". Talk about commitment, I have hundreds/thousands of people checking my progress every week and sending me words of encouragement. I can tell you that creating the website was the BEST thing I could have done, the results speak for themselves (11 weeks...-42 lbs). It's working so well for me, that I decided to let others profit from the motivation I am getting by creating a free personal web page for anyone who wants to let others follow their progress as I am doing. I use forums such as this one to ask questions, try to help others and reap the positive encouragement of others' successes. BTW, my approach has been featured in a newspaper article and I've been plugged on the radio as well. To read the article, goto
