Cramps in calves. . .

Does anyone know how to prevent this? When I walk at lunch. . . even though I stretch out those muscles. . . I have to stop because the cramps are so bad. . . HELP!

A friend suggested Potassium and I will be getting some but this is a pain when I try to actually exercise.

Potassium and calcium are helpful. Have you tried stretching against a wall? Just place your palms on the wall and lean yourself and one leg foward and then switch.

stretching out is the best way, plus have lots of water. cramps are caused by imbalances.

As suggested -Lots of water and you can get potassium in suppliments or by eating banannas. Both will help you, but make sure you stretch out properly before and after. Maybe you just need to start a little slower too -walk shorter distances maybe.

I agree with Jules here...

You may be overdoing it - start out slow. When I started working out I was walking one mile a day...after 3 weeks of working out I am now starting 3 miles a day (with Leslie Sansone). Keep up with the water - it never hurts to have lots of water. Good luck!

I used to get muscle cramps so badly in the middle of the night they would wake me up. The only thing I found that helped was bananas. I love bananas anyway, so it wasn't a big deal for me. I hope you find something that works for you.

bananas is certainly good for you which may help but just do the correct stretches would be my best policy.
