Exclamation Someone PLEASE help my husband!!!!

My husband and I are VERY interested in losing weight; however, with his hours of employment it seems impossible for him to workout and I would really like for him to be healthy not just for me but for himself. I know he would feel a lot better. I on the other hand am a homemaker and am about to join a gym ASAP but my husband is not going to be able to take advantage of working out with me. He delivers bread and has to go to work at 2 a.m. every morning and doesn't get back home until about 3 sometimes 4 p.m. only to go back to bed at 7:30 or 8 p.m. in order to get enough sleep for the next day. Every day he comes home he's so tired he doesn't feel like doing anything but going to bed. Does anyone have any suggestions PLEASE!!!!!!

Good luck...

I can't offer much here...my husband has to be at work at 4:30 in the a.m....gets up at 3....so he is in the same predicament...but once he started working out in the afternoons he has found to have more energy and even on days he doesn't get a lot of sleep he is able to get thru no problem...your hubby might have to bite the bullet and start working out a few times a week when he gets home...he'll be tired yes....but he will ultimately find his energy level shoots up! Also he needs to be sure and take a vitamin every day...that helps too....he may be overly tired not just from work but also because he isn't get the exercise and nutrients he needs...my brother is a "bread man" and works the same hours so I understand! Good luck!

I agree with Damsel for the Walk Away the Pounds videos. I have one of them and even if he's tired he should be able to do them... plus I think the 1ile one is only around 20 minutes long so they don't take a lot of time. He could also work to incorporate more steps during his day.

While I wasn't a bread man, I would get up at 6am, work until 8pm, stuff my face and fall asleep watching tv.

My wife finally pushed hard enough last May that I learned where I could cut some hours out of my day, giving more responsibility to others, making a priority list, and making an absolute start and stop time for every day.

I just make sure I plan my day first, schedule the workout, and she keeps me accountable. I'm still working hard, but I found 45 minutes a day to work out. With that said, it's easier to concentrate now, the workouts help with that.

Just my $.02

I agree with sandollar here. He will be tired when he gets home but he should really try to work out 30 minutes of his time at home to workout. I am also with Damzel on this one - I just got the Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds ($10 @ Wal-Mart) video - I used it for the first time this morning and I feel great. He should really try to find 20 or 30 minutes into every other day to workout - he will be glad that he did. I am definitely glad that I took a step up and started working out each day - I feel terrific and have lots of energy through the entire day. Best wishes!

Widdlecuddles - I just bought the Walk Away the Pounds video - it is a 30 minute video - does she tell you approximately how long of a distance you are working out to? I didn't catch it. I enjoyed this tape so much I am going to do this each morning...it definitely woke me up. I feel that the workout I did was better than going outdoors and walking for 2 miles (in the cold).

First off I would have him eliminate things in his diet and replace them with healthy low cal things. Like no fast food and bring his lunch. Then I would have him bring enough water each day ina cooler and make sure it comes back empty every day. These two things alone will make a big diffence. Then add in some exercising like they suggested that he can do at home. And have him set a routine. Tell him good luck!

I went into Blockbuster ONLINE (we do this instead of NetFlix) last night and she has a lot of videos. I got the Walk & Kick video w/ Leslie...it is a good one. I have ordered a few of her others to try them out - I'm excited to get them in the mail. I also ordered to get Biggest Loser - to see if I like it.
