Swimming

Hey guys I just started swimming laps at our local rec center and let me tell you it is the best workout I have ever had! Swimming works every muscle in your body and it's relaxing, how can you beat that?

I love swimming and just recently discovered a water aerobics class in the evenings at my gym....I'll be going! Can't wait!

...And the best part of a swim workout is that you dont get all sweaty and sticky. You are clean, cooled and refreshed!
But, getting into a bathing suit is the hardest part for me.

Great exercise!

I am currently taking a Water Aerobics class right now and I love it. Once I complete this class I am planning to take a basic swimming class to brush up on the mechanics. Then I want to take a class that helps you work on learning different strokes and helps you develop a routine. Then I will go to one of the local pools and get to swimming. I am such a early riser I could definitely get to the pool, swim, go home, and get to work at a decent hour. I am so excited about this.

I took a water aerobics class last summer and I loved it!

I can't wait for summer this year so I can start back.

I could NEVER bring myself to jump into the local swimming pool! Now I don't mind swimming somewhere that I don't know anyone around and only my husband and kids are with me, but to actually go to the local YMCA and swim where I might run into someone I know???? FORGET IT!!!!

I felt the same way

about having others see me in a bathing suit but I have decided that in order to make myself look better I am going to have to run the risk of others seeing me at my worst in order to get healthy...they may talk about me behind my back, they may come up and say great job...regardless its about ME and only ME.

Bathing Suit

It is very difficult to be seen in a bathing suit at this weight! Although I have taken a water aerobics class and loved it-feel the burn!

Water aerobics

If you are as out of shape and overweight as I am then water aerobics is a great alternative! Its not as hard on the knees and joints (which are already suffering from my excess weight) and you get a great workout!

Well honestly that's probably what I need to do then. However, I know waaaay too many people who visit the Y. All of the kids at our school who play indoor sports must have a membership to the Y. Therefore most families do. I'm just not up to having the students or their parents seeing me like that!
