New and back in the game!!

Hello, I am new here started last week on the newbie thread so this one is new for me. Ok I am having a difficult time with exercise. I used to religiously get up in the mornings and travel 30 miles to my gym(it was next door to where I work) and I got a good workout before heading into work. After about 6 months I got stuck and didn't lose anymore. Now I admit my eating was still a problem and I was doing the same exercises so I know now I got in a rut. So what happened is I slowly quit going and gave up again. Well I started back last week but my schedule has changed. I signed up for a Quick Fit class that is a 20 min class during my lunch which is only 30 minutes. I do this twice a week. I work out with either the elliptical or stair master Monday night after work for about 20 minutes. The weekends are my challenge. I let loose and eat and blow off exercise. I also notice this is when I am most depressed and feel overwhelmed by housework and outside chores to be done. I am thinking if I get up early like I do m-f and clean and work out. But my words are stronger than what I find myself actually doing. Ughhhh I gotta come up with something. I have two boys ages 8, and 11 and hubby works nights so he is alseep at this time. I need to figure out a way to include them in all of this.

Hi again Tx

So sorry I left you hanging before. Been really crazy busy here. Maybe if the temperatures are halfways decent you guys could go on a family bike ride, play basketball or go hiking. Join an indoor pool? Ski?

I highly recomend getting an IPod. You can download books on tape and that would be incentive to start hitting the pavement. Or you could just download your favorite songs from cds if you dont want to pay for ITunes material. I know I have gotten a lot of mileage from mine. Maybe look into a pedometer to keep track of your daily steps. You need at least 10,000 steps a day for weight loss. Sounds like a ton; but it really isnt. You can burn a lot of them just doing everyday chores and shopping. Working out doesnt have to be torture. Find something you like to do and stick with it for a few weeks; then change it up. Dont let your weekends be a free for all. Keep busy to keep your mind off your belly. Go window shopping for new clothes, find a new hobby etc. It will get easier over time. If you need anything; feel free to PM me or email me at Trying4Thin@yahoo.com just include a screen name so I dont delete you by mistake. I set this account up for people with any questions to contact me. Dont be afraid to ask anything.

Good luck!
~Carrie

Try taking martial arts together which is a great way to lose weight as well as it being something your husband and children will probably enjoy as well. It's helped me lose about a hundred pounds.
