Cool books? why the difference?

Hi everyone!!

Hope you are all doing well.
I stayed up late last night reading the biggest loser book and the Jillian Michaels 'Winning by losing' book.
I am confused!!!!!!
When calculating daily calories, the 2 books give 2 very different numbers.
According to biggest loser at 135lbs I should be consuming 135x7=945kcals per day which seems very low and mentions nothing about exercise calories. Jillian gives me 1250kcals which seems more reasonable.
Have any of you tried these 2 methods?
The biggest loser exercise section seems to be more user friendly for eg: the circuit training pictures and descriptions are in sequence so its easy to follow. Jillian requires that you have to keep flipping back trying to find the right pages. Also a few of her exercises require a gym so if you workout at home like me you are better of with the biggest loser circuit as it uses free weights.
Finally, Il ive in the UK and was wondering if anyone else on the forum was British and if they had been able to get quakers weight control oatmeal here?
Wishing you all the best day.
Take care
Littlloser

I would recommend going to the Quaker Oatmeal site. I bet that they would ship worldwide. May be expensive, but it is well worth it. I love my Apple Cinnamon Raisin Oatmeal!! Congrats on the weight loss!

Oh one more thing...Just like there are exceptions to the BMI scale, I also believe that there also exceptions to the calories required rule. Everyone's body is different. I would recomend playing around with your daily intake to see what works best for you. Just keep it reasonable. Not too many or too few.

Anything under 1200 is not good for your body. Especially at 945? wow...you could seriously damage your metabolism for eating that little.

Be careful.

thanks guys
I will definitely check out the quakers oatmeal site.
I did think it was a bit low to eat 945kcals per day. I tried to work out a days meals at that amount and it seemed a bit extreme.
wishimg you all a successful day
take care

I'm sorry I can't advise on either of the books but I definitely am planning on buying them and reading them both - I really like Jillian, she is so inspiring!

I am in the UK and I find that Oat so Simple sachets (or similar) are great for breakfast and I think they are similar to the oatmeal you mention.

I usually just buy the whole oats from holland and barrats. do you add protein powder to yours?
I liked both books for different reasons so it is worthwhile getting both.
i tried the quaker site and they dont deliver to the UK so i guess well have to wait till it finally makes its way over here!!
For those in the UK, where can you get ezekiel bread?
thanks

No, I haven't really tried things like protein powder yet but I would definitely consider it.
That's a shame about the quaker site not delivering hopefully it will get over to the UK eventually!
I'm afraid I've never heard of ezekiel bread - have you tried health shops?

Keep up the good work and have a great weekend!
