Commercials

Anyone else really resent commercials right now? It seems like so many advertise foods that are awful for you and then they toss in a few for magic diet pills.

Maybe it's just because I haven't eaten dinner yet, but I really resent the constant push of the media on radio, TV and even in my mail telling me about some bigger greasier cheaper food.

Sorry, just had to vent. This really strains my diet resolve and tempts me.

I know what you mean - it seems that once I started my diet and exercise that is when I noticed the food commercials. I don't watch much tv so it isn't too hard for me now. I usually just mute my commercials. It makes it easier to ignore.

I must admit today I walked by the student newspaper (which I usually don't read) and picked one up because I saw coupons for some soup cooked in a bowl and covered in cheese at a local Quiznoes. These are things that are unproductive and I must avoid. Grrr at myself.

I have said it before, and I will say it again....Both the fast food industry and the diet industry are in cahoots. They are each only able to exist because of the other one. Eat the "new whopper", gain weight, then try the newest diet fad. Quit the diet and get depressed, go right back to the old ways of eating. It is a viscious cycle, one that I was caught in for a good many years of my life. If the food ads come on, I turn my head away, take a long gulp of water, or think about myself at my goal weight. These ads no longer have a hold on me. I am confident that I am safe from their charms, unless of course they perfect the art of, "smell-o-vision." In that case, I dont think I will be able to ever watch tv again. I am confident in saying that these fast food companies and diet companies have suckered me in for the last time.

When you think about fast food...think oozing grease, imagine eating hardened grease out of a pot...not to mention the reality of it all, you are eating about 50 grams of fat in one meal and it doesn't even satisfy you! You are hungry again in about an hour! Normally you are not supposed to eat more than 50g in a day....let alone have one meal equal that amount! YUCK!

If you truly want to make fast food disgust you, watch the movie Supersize Me...it's very sickening.
