alli

Anyone tempted to try this? I saw a news feature on this the other day. Store clerks are saying the can't keep it in stock, and that people don't even ask or care about the price.
They also don't care about side effects, which from what I understand are quite unpleasant.
I think it's sad -- people are so desperate. Anything at any cost.....
I'm sure this dietary aid has it's place, and can be beneficial to some. But it is NOT a magic pill. And I just know that is what all these people are thinking that it is. "I'll just take my pill and the weight will just fall off.. I won't have to diet or exercise, or anything."
WRONG!
I hope that the people buying this are doing their research. I hope they are using this the way it's meant to be used and are motivated by the additional help it might give them, rather than depending on the pill to do all the work.
There was a time in my life where I might have been sorely tempted to try it. But I know better now. No pills, no magic food plan, no special piece of equipment or exercise video will work. We know what works. And it's the easiest thing in the world -- Burn more calories than you consume.
Easy? Sure it sounds easy, but it's a hard hard thing to do!
So don't fall for it -- don't help line the drug company's pockets and buy this stuff. We can all do it on our own -- we just have to do what we know we have to.

I hear ya, and agree that popping pills just doesn't cut it. There's no miracle cure for weight loss and keeping it off for life.

I just saw the commerical for it last night, and of course walk by the swollen racks of the books at Walmart often, but I've never wanted to just stop and find out about it. It seems like something that's "too good to be true". I always believe in knowledge is power, so I think researching things around is a good thing...but being wise to what's important to put in the body seems even more important. <shrug> I can't see spending hard earned cash on something that won't help me what exercise and eating right has done over the past 2 months.

A friend of mine was practically nuts with excitement when Alli was coming out. She bought it and tried it along with trying to eat healthy and exercise. Her weight loss has been slow and full of the usual ups and downs we all face. After about 4 months of popping Alli pills her conclusion: It doesn't really do anything.

No, none of them really do anything do they? Newsflash there's still no pill to take away our desire to overeat.
