Protien ????

Hello,

I know having lots of protien in your diet is really important for weight loss but i'm really struggling to get enough. I don't eat any meat or fish (no food with a face!) so the only protien i'm getting is from egg whites and i'm getting a bit sick of them now!

Has anyone got any ideas of what else i could include into my diet? I've tried looking for protein shakes/bars but i can't seem to find anything without loads of calories!

Thank you
Nicole x

I buy Nectar whey protein powder...they usually have around 130 cals...no fat, no carbs...and around 24-33g of protein per scoop. I usually have it for snack along with some wheat thins so I am not consuming too many calories for one meal. I have 2 protein shakes a day.

Also try lowfat Cottage cheese or yogurt. Those are high in protein too and don't have a face.

You might want to look for an older cookbook called "Tofu Goes West." I have used it so much over the years that I wore out my first copy and am on my second. It shows you how to use tofu (originally an Asian ingredient) for non-Asian meals such as pasta, stews, etc. Sometimes I serve my family tofu and they are not even aware that's what they're eating, because tofu tends to take on the flavor of whatever it's cooked with.

My post workout protein shake has around 150 calories (1 scoop in 500ml) so bearing in mind i burn around 1000 calories in a workout its not so bad.

I did a quick search and came up with
