Help me with my hard boiled eggs please

Anyone have a fool proof method for cooking hardboiled eggs.
I have hard boiled eggs every day. I cool them on Sunday to eat for the week. Some weeks they peel everyday perfectly other weeks, like today, I end up demolishing most of the the egg before I get it peeled.

Got any tips to help me out

hi

i know what u mean some eggs just dont want to peel lol, under the shell there should be a thin layer before the egg white, its the same colour so sometimes its difficult to see, but i usually try n peel that rather than the shell. not sure if u have tried this, but thought i would post anyway.

Timing is everything. Well, actually, timing and full submersion.

Fully submerge the eggs in a pan of cold water. Put them on the stove on medium heat. Set your timer for 15 minutes. (You are timing the overall amount of time you have the eggs on the stove...not the number of minutes that they boil.)

When the time is up, take them off the stove. Put the pan in the sink. Run cold water over the eggs, still in the pan, until they are cool to the touch.

Before peeling an egg, roll it on its side on a cutting board, applying enough pressure to make cracks all the way around the middle of the egg.

With luck and a little practice, you should be able to remove the egg shell and underlying skin-like layer in just a few pieces.

P.S. My husband is not allowed to boil eggs. More than once, he's forgotten them on the stove and they have EXPLODED all over the kitchen. Thank God we have dogs to help with the cleanup.

Add salt to the water that you boil the eggs in and they will peel easier.

Thanks for that little tip. I always have the same problem when it comes to peeling them. I will definately try a bit of salt next time.

Thanks eveyone!!!
I always put salt in the water. I have heard that helps with keping the shell from cracking while they are cooking.
Also I have tried putting a little vinegar in the cold water after they are cooked and I move them to the sink (my friend said that worked well - she said "ever have problems peeling a colored easter egg" gee no I haven't) but I must not put enough vinegar or something cause it doesn't help. Frugal Sue I am going to try your suggestion this Sunday.
And by the way thank for mentioning if you leabve them on too long they can explode LOL I guess I have been lucky! I have forgotten they were on the stove a couple times.
