I totally agree about restaurants. I just can't go to them yet. That is my choice, I just don't think I could resist yet. So what I have done instead is make us all eat dinner together sitting at the dinner table. No tv, no distractions. We use a table cloth and manners, which with two little ones is a feat in its self. We talk about each others day, and it really seems to help us, I don't feel like I am missing out on a big dinner, because with all the talking it takes just that much longer to eat our meal.

It is really hard for me, because when I want to go out to a nice place, it is really hard not to drink a glass of wine. I feel like since I am already paying for the food, I might as well splurge and get the wine. For this reason, I have not gone out to dinner in the past 2 weeks. I did a lunch, but it is easier to stick with good choices and water at lunch.

That's what Tom and I need to do. Our dinner place to eat is in our den at tv trays watching tv... we really need to sit down at the diningroom table, keep the tv off and just enjoy each other's company and the food

There is a great book called "Saving Dinner" and it is all about bringing your family back to the dining room table. I like it because you are eating different things everynight, most of the ingredients are fresh and the nutritional info is located on each page. I learned how to make so many cool new things, my son would get really excited about it and ask me, "so what are we having for dinner tonight?"
