I have done a wonderful job over the past week. My biggest temptation were dinner rolls served at a restaurant this weekend. I don't have a problem passing anything up but it was very hard to say no and I am proud to say that I pushed them away.

It is soo hard to go and eat at a restarant isn't it? I don't have a problem making good choices from the menu, but I hate it when they start bringing all those extras to the table! I don't think I can walk into a Mexican Food Restaraunt any time too soon. If they brought the tortilla chips and salsa to my table I might have to roll up in a fetal position and whimper until they took them away-ha! I know I would crack.

That is too funny - hey, at least your know your weakness! I haven't had any problems eating at restaurants this weekend other than that bread. It looked so good!

LOL they should not be allowed to bring anything extra to a dieter's table. No bread, crackers or tortilla chips. One time I was on a diet and the weighter brought a bunch of condiments to the table and a bowl of this jalapeno relish stuff (it is jalapenos, carrots and cauliflower-it is really hot) and I proceeded to start munching down on it-Jeez!

I totally agree. I was out to dinner with my hubby a couple weeks ago at an Italian restaurant and I asked the waitress if she could only bring us half a loaf of bread. She said they weren't allowed to do that. So when she brought the bread I immediately cut it in half and asked her to take the other half. She said she would be back later to get it, in case we decide we want it later!

Great job pushing those extra carbs to the other side of the table. I know I cant say no to the breadsticks at the Olive Garden. Same with the tortilla chips and salsa, or the mozzerella sticks. Why dont restaurants have veggie tray appetizers?? America is on a health kick now and restaurants need to remember that.

Carrie I totally agree. I think it would be great if restaurant would cater a little more to the people who are trying to lose weight or just eat heathier in general. I looked at the menu at the restaurant we went to tonight. the only veggie type appitizers they had were mushrooms, broboli and cauliflower nites and onion... thaat doesn't sound bag exept every one of those are covered in batter and deep fired

I think Olive Garden is evil....mostly because I loved their bread sticks, and now they are off limits. The polite thing to do would be to have them available, but, only if you ask for them. They don't need to bring you a glass of water with lemon, and a basket of bread sticks. Geez.
Second worst place....Outback Steak House. (Bread is evil...but that kind was twice as evil because it was so yummy) I told the waitress that I didn't want bread, and she brought it us anyways. That just bugged me.

Red Lobster is evil, you go to eat healthy seafood and they serve you cheese biscuits!

Wow when I read that OLive garden is evil... I immediately thought of Red Lobster being evil too and then I read the next post... Those have got to be the 2 roughest places for me.
