Choices
Yesterday I made a lot of good choices and felt proud of myself.
At my teacher's workshop there were cinnamon rolls, Hershey's kisses and homemade cookies-I didn't have any.
At Lunch the teacher's wanted to go to Chili's they chose to have Burgers, fries and chocolate milkshakes-I chose to have a side salad and steamed veggies.
At a birthday party at Joe's Crab Shack after the workout the teachers chose to drink margaritas and beer and ordered 6 platters full of buffalo wings, potato skins, mozarella sticks, shrimp, oysters, stuffed jalapenos and crab balls. I chose to drink water with lemon, say happy birthday and goodbye and then went to the gym.
Sometimes it is really hard to make the right choices at the time, but a day later I am so proud that I made the choices that I did.

Thanks Susie! I just hope I can be that resilient everyday!
I tell you, after leaving Joe's Crab Shack, I wanted to just cry all the way home! Took my frustrations out at the gym though (no wonder I am feeling really sore today!)

Exactly Susie! I LOVE crab balls and everyone kept telling me, it's okay to have just a little bit. They obviously don't know me, because when I snack, I graze! I can't just eat a little bit of anything. Once the taste is in my mouth and there is still more food on the table, I will eat it. I just got more and more frustrated as the hour went on. Taking it out at the gym was awesome, I had a great workout!

That i so true once you start with a nibble then you want it even more. I find it better to just say NO lol. And going to the gym was a great way to handle it! TWO THUMBS UP TO YOU!!!! You had a lot of temptation and you resisted good for you!!!!

Thanks Theresa! I was just on the phone with a friend of mine, I invited her to come and join the forum. I was telling her that for my program to work for me, I have to get extreme about it and tell myself no means no.

I don't have a problem with cake but I do have a problem with good cookies. I have been able to shop without getting sweets - the kids are okay with it..they have been snacking healthy, too. They eat fruit instead of a cookie now. My problem is my husband -he always has to have a late night snack - I always used to snack with him - I have had to put a stop to it! Good luck!

Good for you Patty Ann! My biggest temptation is anything cheesy, fried or salty. I have to walk a big circle around the tortilla chip/dip aisle in the supermarket, I don't even want to look at it now.

Heading to the gym was your best decision...who knows - when you arrived at home you could have taken your frustration out on eating food. I know that I probably would have.
