don't be discouraged if you have not recieved a call back yet, but please don't hold your breath! i auditioned for season 2 and was called back for a second interview before i even arrived home! i did the 30 minute on camera with them the next day in a hotel room. then i did not hear from them for a while (4-6 weeks), then they called to ask me some questions. then they called for "before" pictures of me. then they called and wanted to know if my mom (who is overweight and in the pictures i sent) wanted to do the show with me. unfortunately, my mom was a bit nervous about the whole national television thing. i thought ok that's it, they are done with me. then they called again asking for more video footage of me interacting with my children. then they called again to let me know they were "pitching" me to the NBC execs. that was the middle to end of february last year. i never hear from them again that is until this year. to my surprise they wanted to see me again! of course i obliged, but in the mean while i have started a body challenge with a few friends at the gym. is that 6 or 7 callbacks????

I have read on several boards where people seem like they are spending every day waiting for a call back. I understand what you are saying about not putting your life on hold. that's great that you started a body challenge with some friends... hope that goes well for you. Good luck to you if you get another call back. I'm sure that would be exciting to be on the show. I would root for you

how long do you usually wait in line at the open auditions thinking about going to Columbus tomorrow

I have never been, but everyone who has talked about going has said they were in line for hours and hours (at least 6) so you need to get there very early.

In the book, there is a section on how you can setup your own challange with co-workers, friends, etc.

A good friend of mine got into one with the other teachers at her school. The prize money is tiny (15 of them put $50 a piece in the pot) but the ultimate goal is health! They did a lot of great things. She just gave me the stats, so I'll share them...

total starting weight of all 15 participants: 3047
total ending weight of all 15 participants: 2611
total Percentage lost: 14.3%
Biggest Weight lost was 59 lbs (a male contestant)
Second was 57 lbs (a female contestant)
Biggest % lost was 29% by a different female contestant than the 1 listed above.

They did their first weigh in at the start of the fall semester, and did the final weigh in at the start of the january sememster so that they all would have to stick to the diet/exercise over the holiday season.

their payouts were small, they gave out 15 $25 gift certificate to Whole Foods (a healthier grocery store) after each weigh in to the person that had the highest percentage of weight lost between each weigh, but you couldn't win in consecutive weeks.

they bought 3 sets of books and dvd's, for 4th, 5th and 6th place, paid 3rd place $100, 2nd place $150, and 1st place was $250.

Feel free to use these metrics if you wish, or build your own, anyway you do it, the goal is health, not wealth!

What a great idea, I don't think we have that many people here at work in that situation but another lady I work with watches that show, maybe I'll she if she's interested we could float it out there and see who's interested.

Honestly, I don't think I could live everyday with a camera up my ..... I'm afraid I'd be snapping at the camera man. He would just be doing his job, and I'd blow up at him for being in my face or whatever.

Hi "okioweyouone" I am in the exact same situation that you are. I was really curious to see if anyone else had been called back from last year. So far you are the only other one I have heard of that happening too. Very interesting. Thanks for posting.

My goodness okioweyouone!! What a discouraging thing to know LOL. Don't give up though, you NEVER know!! I wonder what exactly they are looking for. I mean, none of the girls from last season were all that spectacular looking or anything. Granted, after losing all that weight, Suzy looks absolutely incredible. She is so tiny I can't even believe my eyes. Well, I'm going to the casting call tomorrow, so wish me luck!
