Audition Advice
If you are going out to the audition here is some good advice that was collected from other people that went.
1. Be yourself!!!
2. Bring your ID.
3. Bring a video. (not required but all the competitors I have seen on the show had one)
4. Be outgoing. Remember you would be on TV and no one wants to watch someone boring.
5. Show up early.
If you get asked an extra question that the others dont get asked in your group there is a greater chance you will get a call back for the second audition.

Orlando Auditions Tomorrow
Aaron,
Thanks so much for posting those helpful hints! I am waking up bright and early tomorrow morning and I will be heading to the casting call in Orlando. I am soooo nervous, which really, I shouldn't be...I have a higher chance of being struck by lightning, LOL! Well, wish me luck, I am hopeful...we'll see what happens. I'll post about my experience when I return!

Why would you think you are boring. Sometimes the most "real" people are the ones that we would rather watch. We do not watch the Biggest Loser to be entertained but to be inspired.

I agree with you Ehyatt! The thing that bothers me about applying is that I am doing it through snail mail - I was unable to make it to the casting call - I was upset b/c they were holding it in KC, MO - just 45 minutes south of me. ANYWAY - I am such a boring person as I talk to the camera - I need them to see who I am and I need to find a creative way for them to see who I really am. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could make my tape interesting without me just having to sit in front of the camera and talk?

None of you are boring! It just feels strange being in front of the camera. Do a lot of action shots or you working out alone and with your family. Showing that you are eating nutritious meals. Get your family in front of the camera and have them talk about how your weightloss affects you and how they support you. When you sit down with the camera just stare straight into it and speak from the heart. It helps to prepare what you want to say ahead of time and then you can always add and take away from it once you get rolling. The action shots will show them how fun you really are, and that you are trying to make a change but are not finding success. I think NBC does want people with personality, but I also think they want people with a lot of depth who are super committed to doing this. Good luck all!

I had a chance to re-make my audition tape - thanks to the extension. I started recording today...I went out with my siblings to take family pics for my parent's 40th anniversary. I had them tape me at the beginning as I told them why I was applying for the show...we did a lot of takes through the day. I included the time we were at the restaurant - I got teary eyed as I talked - well, the tears fell...my sister made me cry. She told the camera that she wants me on the show so that I can work on losing weight b/c she knows that it'll make me happy - that is what my son has said. It hits you hard when family actually speaks out honestly why you need to lose the weight. I have thought myself as a happy person but they can see through a lot of it and know the reasoning behind it all. I am going to interview my kiddos and husband tonight on why I should be picked. Then I am sending it in - I'm excited to get it finished.

That sounds great Patty Ann! I think we should all make a tape, even if we are not going to send it in, it would be a great motivational tool to hear how you family really supports you and wants you to lose the weight.

It is a great tool of motivation - the comments your family has to say. Family loves you and they aren't out to hurt you - when they speak honestly it comes from their heart and that is what she did.
