I used to walk 5 miles every time I went for a walk. No one would go with me, because I went too far! I never really felt physically tired either, but I would get this tingly feelin in my toe, and it would get numb, and really hurt! That's partly why I cut back to 4 miles -- that and time constrictions.
I don't know what's going on with my toes -- it's the middle toe of my left foot that gets really bad. But talking to my sister, a year or so ago -- the same thing happens to her!
Shoes don't matter, stretching doesn't matter...
But I know I could walk for miles more, if not for this toe pain! I dont' know about 12, but I bet I could work up to that, no problem.
I would love to do that breast cancer walk -- they walk, like 20 miles a day, for 2 days or something??? My mom had breast cancer - my best friend's mom died of it right after we graduated high school. I know lots of people who's moms have battled this. ( like my mom, I think hormones taken after menopause caused it)
But I don't know how I'd do, having to stop every 3 or 4 miles, to massage my numb toe!
