You know, as I read that, I kind of have to laugh. For every item on the market, they always fine SOMETHING wrong with it. Even the air you breathe can be deadly.
I am not going to say that a person should consume large amounts of any beverage...outside of water. Not even milk, which according to studies years ago “does a body good” and now they tell you milk isn’t as good for you as they thought it was. I chalk that up to a chemical happy world really. We put chemicals into everything to preserve it, can it, or drink it.
Moderation is essential. If you want to have a soda a day, then have one. It doesn’t have to be a “diet soda”. I just happen to prefer the taste of a diet soda because I cannot stand how thick a regular soda tastes.
As for the evils of “splenda”, I really cannot agree with that at all. My doctor actually told me he uses it himself, and I know several of my diabetic customers are very thankful I carry sugar-free frosting in my bakery. If allowing them to have a simple pleasure like cake for their special occasions is bad, then so be it.
In my opinion, if you look hard enough, you can find something deadly about everything…like crossing the street for example…or taking a bath. We are always quick to find faults, but never the benifits. Imagine that.
