Hello wintolose,
I can recall all the times I had tried and failed, and how utterly miserable I was each of those times. I went from doing so good, to eatting more then I ever had, and packing on an extra 20-30lbs each failure. What I did then was opted to set a small goal....but a realistic one.
My best advice to you is, set goals you can actually accomplish. For example your goals could be. Today I'll walk for 20 minutes, and make a salad for dinner. Something you know you can acheive without wanting to back out.
If you find yourself slipping up, tell yourself out loud that you are in control of you. Food does not control you, and you're eatting because you're bored, not hungry. (I've done that often myself) I know all too well what it's like to battle your mind. And I do believe food is an addiction. It's one that you can get over though if you truly want to.
So far, you've made the biggest step, and that was realizing what you're doing, and talking about it. The next step is listening to advice, but making a choice that suits you, and you can follow through with.
I wish you all the best, and hope you're able to accomplish what you want to accomplish. *Hugs*
Lady Jami
