Hi wintolose,

I have been struggling with chronic depression too for a long time now, so I understand what you are going through. Sometimes it feels like getting out of bed is asking for too much. I agree with Elizabeth. You cant just "snap out of it." But you can put up a heck of a fight to hold on to what you have accomplished so far. Think back to a time when you were really happy and use that to fuel your efforts. You will have both good and bad days. Use your journal for both. If your thoughts are too personal, but you still need to vent, you can Private Message a friend on the site, or keep a paper journal at home that only you have access too. You have worked too hard to just let it all go. You can do this! Depression doesnt have to ruin your life, but it can if you let it. If the weather is nice, take a walk and contemplate the meaning of life, or whatever else is on your mind or in your heart at the time. Often when I am walking, my mind wanders all over the place and I forget what I was originally depressed about. Good walking choices are; music you like, going with a friend, or trying an audiobook. Walking kills two birds with one stone...1) counts as cardio 2) frees up your mind for a few hours (or however long you go). 3) Boosts endorphins (the feel good "happy hormones") Best of luck and keep us posted!
