I say the joke is on the men because if Roger had put the Ice Cream on Jay's table and not Aly's, he would have won. Roger feels like an idiot. The men played as they did because they wanted to leave the decision in the hands of the women and not jeopardize their friendship. Oh the irony...Jay is about to get his $10,000 and is asked how he plans to spend it. He says that when he is done with BL, he will take his wife on a really nice vacation. Not so fast Jay, there is a second option. Allison tells Jay that he can use his cold hard cash to "buy" what is in the envelope she is holding in her hand. It is a 1 pound pass and he has until the weigh-in to decide what to do. Roger and Jay are talking later in the kitchen. Roger "the competitor" says to take the cash. Roger "the friend" says to take the pass. Dan is also turning things over in his mind, secretly hoping Jay takes the cash, but he tells him to wait and see how his workouts go. Roger calls this, "The 1 Pound Season." (Oh the irony)
Ali is fuming. "They think they are all going to the finale but all they are doing is giving $250,000 to the man with the most weight to lose....Roger!" Roger won't mind giving up $10,000 when they are going to turn around and give him the top prize. "They need relationships to stay." The women have no choice but to fight back and get the men below the yellow line where they are forced to turn on each other in order to survive.
Bob wants Jay to take the pound. I don't think anyone but Jay was struggling with that decision.
Kelly and Ali meet with Jillian who is saddened to hear that the men were munching during the challenge. Jillian is repulsed (in her words) but also that it seems the men aren't growing in the ways that they should be. After hearing about the option of the 1 pound, Jillian is even more determined. 1 pound has haunted her as well in every single weigh in. She is determined to keep her girls.
Bob does a quick food bit with Roger and Jay. What did they used to eat for breakfast and dinner, as opposed to now? There wasn't a plate there that was under 1,000 calories. Some were up to 2,000 in a single meal. Ad spot for Quaker Weight Control Oatmeal.
Last chance workout with Jillian is a killer. For his part, Bob puts all 4 guys on the same workout. He is keeping them, "a unit." There will be no distractions. He can handle any scenario except two of his men below the yellow line. Highly unlikely, but stranger things have happened.
Jillian does a Trainer Tip on drinking water. All the contestants drink at least 62 oz of water a day to help the body get rid the Lactic Acid from their muscles. Lactic Acid causes pain in muscles after working out.
The weight results:
Contestant Previous Wt Current Wt Loss %
Mark 185 181 -4 2.16%
Jay (1 pound pass) 206 201 -5 (+1) 2.91%
Dan 199 198 -1 0.5%
Kelly 199 192 -7 3.52%
Roger 242 236 -6 2.48%
Ali 155 149 -6 3.87%
*Weigh in notes:
Dan had second thoughts on muching during the challenge. He didn't give 100% this week and he knew it. Dan never thought the women would have pulled the numbers they did. He figured he would go below with Kelly and the guys would save him.
Roger is now 1 pound away from his high school weight.
Ali has now lost 85 pounds which is a record. No woman has stayed on campus and lost that much.
There are no trainers at the weigh in. Too bad; Jillian would have been so proud.
Allison makes the all important statement that, "There are 6 of you left, but your team colors run deep. You are competing as individuals, but behaving like the teams still matter."
Bob's worst case scenario.....Mark and Dan fall below the yellow line.
Dan had never been below the yellow line before. In confession says that he would have no remorse for those who fell below. "Sorry guys, looks like the game got to you." No Dan, looks like the game got to you!
Dan goes to see the women. "Not here to petition." He wants to stay. So who goes? The man with the drive and competitive spirit almost at goal? Or the man who usually drops big numbers and could still stand to lose a few more?
Jay refuses to put Mark's name down again because he fought to come back. In Mark's head it's going to be different this time because he didn't agree to step away if he got to goal (which he has now surpassed). Dan is the biggest threat.
Here is how the votes fell...Ali, Kelly, and Roger all voted for Dan who is in tears before the votes were even revealed. He knew his time had come.
Dan is, "No longer spoon fed life." While at the ranch he lost 112 pounds. He went home to his family and 2 weeks later packed up and moved to LA to pursue his music career. He will no longer be the talented "big guy."
To date he has now lost 125 pounds and wants to lose 15 more before the finale.
Tune in next episode when the contestants go, "Down Under!"
