Welcome! You're just in time for the new season of Biggest Loser, which should be really inspiring and will probably get things hopping on this board again. It's been pretty slow here all summer.

I'm also one of the older people around this board, age 52, and let me tell you, you can do it! Despite some mobility and pain problems that have drastically limited my ability to exercise, I've lost about 30 lbs in the past year and plan to lose another 30 in the coming year.

My advice to you is to concentrate on nutrition. I try to eat foods that really pack in the nutrition (superfoods like spinach, blueberries, whole grains, etc.) and avoid foods that give you calories without much nutrition (sugar, white flour, etc.). Try to learn something new about nutrition every day--there's plenty of information online and in magazines and so on. Even if you implement only a small amount of what you learn, it will make a difference.
