OK, I got more information today when I went back to the orthopedic surgeon's office again.

I had xrays on my neck and right shoulder, which have been hurting ever since I feel down ice skating in February. It turns out I have lots of disc problems in my neck. But the shoulder is actually more painful, and it's probably a less major problem. Like just some irritation to the rotator cuff--probably not anything so serious that it would need surgery, it just needs a chance to calm down. So I got another cortisone shot, this time in the shoulder.

The doctor said that it will take a few days for my two cortisone shots (shoulder and knee) to help with pain. In the meantime, the pain will be worse before it is better. So he gave me some pain pills and said not to do any activity at all for the next few days until we know if the cortisone is going to help my problems.

I also got fitted for the brace. I am so glad to have decent insurance now! The brace is about $2000 but I will only have to pay a copay.
