Hey Everyone-
Here's my update...I got to the venue (24 hour fitness) at 4:30 AM. There were about 50 people there. Someone started handing out numbers to keep things fair. They were allowing us to sit inside until 6 AM. We were sent to our cars from 6-7. At seven we all began to gather outside. By this time there were about 300 people there. Those of us who were early started to get up front. The ones who just got there were saying the numbers were not handed out by NBC and were useless. There was some DRAMA. Then...24 hour fitness said we could not line up until 7:30!! Finally, someone gave the signal and we were herded like cattle through the line. I was number 101. Wristbands were supposed to be handed out at 8. We had been standing in the cold, rain for an hour by then. Finally, at 9 the NBC girls came out handing out short applications and wristbands. It was still cold and raining. We were FREEZING!! They never let us in the club, and began to refuse us entry to use the restroom. They directed us to some very nasty port-o-potties!! I decided to wait...for 3 more hours!! Anyway, at 10 the line began to move. They called us into an aerobic studio in groups of 20. Two tables of 10 were set up, each with a casting person. We sat down for maybe 6 minutes. We were asked for our application, our name, and one question. What is the one misconception the public has about fat people? What is it that really makes you mad? Then we were asked to leave and told callbacks would be that night. I did not get a call. She said we could still submit a tape. Should I? Will it make a difference? Do I need to submit a new application with it? I would be surprised if there were more than 500 people there. Everyone in line had a wristband. I doubt many came after 10. I was really upset that they took such little time and kept us outside in the rain. Not a great experience!! Oh well- I gave it my best shot. I really thought I was spunky and charismatic.
